At a networking reception with hundreds of attendees, a lot of people end up chatting with the colleagues they came with, maybe meet one new person by accident, and head back to their hotel to prep for the next day.

It's not because they don't want to connect. It's because a room that size without any structure doesn't give anyone an easy way to.

At Dynamic Events, the events we've seen deliver the outcomes they were built for are the ones where connection was designed for from the start:

This is "AI, actually," our new series where we share an honest, bite-sized version of what our team at DE is testing with AI, and what’s happening when we do.

First up: our shared content inbox. On an events content team, everything lands in one place: speaker changes, scheduling requests, tool access needs, questions from stakeholders and all the other day-to-day communication that keeps content moving. Someone (or multiple someones) has to monitor it, sort it, prioritize it, and make sure nothing sits too long. Multiply that across concurrent global events, and there’s a lot of manual coordination happening behind the scenes before we even start to reply.

So one of our team members (hi Shawndell!) built a Power Automate + AI flow that triages emails by event and checks the inbox twice a day. It creates a quick snapshot of total and unread emails, flags anything overdue or approaching our response SLA, and summarizes what’s sitting in the inbox. Then it drops that snapshot right into the event’s Teams chat so the team can quickly see what needs attention. 🙌

That's one of the things we want to share and explore with this series: the real life version of how event teams are actually using AI to improve 'the boring' stuff. Not take over the work only our team can do, but help us carve out time and make things efficient, so we can do our best work.

As we close out Connections of GratituDE, there’s one connection we couldn’t end the week without celebrating: the ones within our DE team 💛

Because before we can create meaningful connections with our customers, partners, and communities, we have to build them with each other.

And this summer, we really did.

We made up reasons to get together in person. Crossed paths while traveling. Cheered from the stands, escaped a few rooms, showed up on each other’s screens, gave back to our communities, laughed — a lot — and made memories in all the little moments in between.

And maybe that’s the real magic of connection at DE.

Yes, we create connections for a living but also thrive on them in our day to day.

It’s checking in. Showing up. Making room for the human behind the work. Celebrating the wins and helping carry the hard stuff. It’s knowing that wherever the next project, flight, challenge, or adventure takes us, there’s a pretty incredible network of people who are kind, respectful, and hard working in your corner. (Not to mention, we are some of the funniest people we know!)

That kind of connection changes the fibers of how we work together It gives us more trust, more empathy, more joy, and a whole lot more heart to pour into the experiences and relationships we create for others.

So we’re ending GratituDE Week where so much of it begins: with our people.

Grateful for the summer behind us, for the community we continue to build, and for all the connections still ahead.

Some of the best connections are built in the moments you could never plan.

We spent time with our MediaTek team along the California coast, sharing lunch with an incredible view, enjoying the sunshine, and creating a few memories we know will make their way into future conversations.

Like the unexpected wave that soaked us mid-conversation. 🌊 Or the very determined seagull who decided our lunch should be its lunch. 😂

Those moments of laughter may seem small, but they’re exactly the moments that deepen relationships. They give us shared stories, inside jokes, and something to smile about the next time we’re together.

Because nothing can replace time spent face-to-face.

Beyond the projects, meetings, and deliverables, it’s these experiences that build trust, strengthen relationships, and turn the people we work with into people we genuinely enjoy spending time with.

We’re grateful for the work we get to do together, but even more grateful for the connections we build along the way.

There’s something special about stepping away from the screen and making space to simply connect.

As part of our Connections of GratituDE, we spent a sunny afternoon with our AvePoint friends at Discovery Park. Getting outside, taking in the fresh air and beautiful views, and even stopping to pick a few berries along the way. ☀️🌿🫐

No big agenda. Just time together, good conversation, and a reminder that some of the most meaningful connections happen when we slow down enough to enjoy them.

We’re grateful for relationships that extend beyond the work and for a beautiful afternoon to appreciate them.

As we celebrate Connections of GratituDE, we’ve been thinking about the relationships that shape our work, and our time at the CEMA Summit was such a great reminder of just how meaningful those connections can be.

Some of the most valuable moments didn’t happen on stage. They happened in conversations with longtime industry friends, new connections, and peers who were willing to openly share their experiences, challenges, ideas, and perspectives.

That spirit of connection is something we’re especially grateful for.

Our industry moves fast, and it’s easy to stay focused on the next event, deadline, or deliverable. But experiences like CEMA Summit remind us that the relationships we build along the way are just as important as the work itself. They challenge our thinking, help us grow, create opportunities to learn from one another, and make this industry feel like a true community.

We left the Summit with new ideas and perspectives, but even more importantly, with a renewed appreciation for the people who make this work meaningful.

During Connections of GratituDE, we’re celebrating exactly that: the people who share their knowledge, make time for a conversation, open a door, offer support, and continue to show up for one another.

When we think about the moments that stay with us, they almost always come back to people:

This week is about something that sits at the heart of who we are: connection.

At Dynamic Events, we’ve learned that some of the most meaningful moments don’t always happen in the biggest rooms or during the most important meetings.

They happen in the conversations in between, the thoughtful check-ins, the unexpected acts of kindness, and the moments when someone feels truly seen, supported and valued.

That’s what Connections of GratituDE is all about:

Throughout GratituDE Week, we’re taking intentional time to celebrate the people and relationships that make our work, and our lives, more meaningful. We’ll be recognizing the moments of impact, celebrating one another, showing appreciation, strengthening relationships and finding new ways to create connection within our team, with our customers and throughout our community.

Because gratitude is more than saying thank you. It’s remembering that the relationships we build along the way are often the most meaningful part of the journey.
