In celebration of Pride Month, join Save the Dunes and Northwest Indiana Green Drinks on Thursday, as we welcome CJ Greco (they/she), a nonbinary transwoman, activist, and naturalist from Chicago, Illinois, to share about their career in conservation, currently working as Teen Programs Manager at Lincoln Park Zoo.

In addition, CJ will share how she creates safe spaces in the outdoors for LGBTQIA+ individuals across the region and their work on the leadership team for Out In Nature, a community organization founded in 2019 dedicated to providing an accessible, positive environment for all LGBTQIA+ individuals to connect, explore, and experience nature and the outdoors. NWI PrideFest 2026 is proud to welcome Gary Harm Reduction as a participating vendor and community resource organization this year ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Gary Harm Reduction is a grassroots Northwest Indiana organization founded in 2020 that focuses on overdose prevention, harm reduction education, Narcan distribution, advocacy, and connecting people with recovery and wellness resources throughout the Region. The organization is volunteer-led and centered on meeting people with compassion, dignity, and without judgment.

Their mission is rooted in the belief of “No Question. No Stigma. No Shame.” while helping reduce overdose deaths and increase access to lifesaving education and supplies across Northwest Indiana. Gary Harm Reduction has distributed thousands of Narcan kits and continues to provide outreach, education, and community support services throughout Gary and surrounding communities.

✨ GHR also participates in community events, overdose awareness initiatives, public education efforts, and regional outreach programs designed to help individuals and families impacted by substance use and recovery.
