Just want to take a second to say a huge thank you to our ohana that staffed our Te Mana Ori event! Not all of them r in the pic sorry but I’m sure everyone saw them throughout the day. From 7am-7pm our 63 Kalakeke volunteers helped run the backstage , set up, scorekeeping, food prep, solo registration, will call, ticket sales, T-shirt sales, door monitoring, clean up and more! Thank you also to Kalakeke fam that gave us volunteer food 😋 We are so grateful for your hearts and willingness to help put on this amazing event for the Polynesian dance community. You guys are wonderful!

Let’s Get Ready To Ori

7th Annual Te Mana Ori 2019, Tahitian Solo Competition. Te Mana Ori started out as a Mock Tahitian Solo Competition hosted by Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance Company to help Soloists prepare for Ori Tahiti Competition. Our event was called Kalakeke PIDC Tahitian Solo Showcase. This event became the stepping stone to the Ori Tahiti Solo Competition, helping Soloist prepare for the upcoming season. Then in 2011 we decided to transform our event into an Ori Tahiti Solo Competition. Our event will celebrate it’s 7th year as the first Ori Tahiti Solo Competition of the year. We are very excited to welcome Soloist from all over California, Nevada and as far as Florida. Our esteemed judges are Aunty Riki Liufau of Nonosina, Aunty Lorie Roldan-Almogela of Kawailehua and Tiana Liufau of Nonosina. Each judge has honored us with their vast experience and knowledge to help each Soloist gain insite on their Ori Tahiti technique and skill. This year our event will be held at the beautiful campus of Real Life Church. Our Emcee will be non other than Kin Farrell of Island Kinections and Hosted by Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance Company and SCV Pacific Islander Culture and Arts, Inc. (501c3). Please join us on Saturday, February 9, 2019 for an excited day of Ori Tahiti and Drumming. Let’s Get Ready To Ori!
