This one means a lot to me because it was actually a long term goal I created for myself during my senior year of college. I remember sitting with my professors talking about my future, creating goals, and trying to picture where I wanted Slate Haven Events to go years down the road.

I wanted to give back to my community in a way that impacted me most as a kid… the ball field. I wanted to coach, sponsor a team, and create special moments that made kids’ eyes light up at the ball field. ❤️⚾️

I graduated on May 10th, 2025, and at the time, I truly thought this was something that would take me a few years to accomplish. But opening ceremony was May 9th, 2026… less than a year later.

364 days. 🥹

I don’t share my goals out loud very often, so I wanted to take a second to reflect on this one because I’m really proud of how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time.

It was so special to see all the kids admire, wow, and take photos with the balloons and banner.

Opening Day at Mound City Little League was extra special this year! 🤍⚾️

I grew up at these ball fields with my papaw. Papaw is a Mound City Lifetimer, after many years spent at the park. I played here for years, spent countless nights in the stands and at the concession stand, and made so many memories here growing up.

Now getting to come back with my own team, assistant coach alongside these girls, AND create the banner and balloons for opening day for Slate Haven Events is such a cool full-circle moment for me.

Just really grateful to be even a small part of something that meant so much to me growing up! How special! I love what I do! 🥎❤️
