This past Saturday, Smiling Dog Event Group pulled out all the stops for the 132nd Wing Military Ball. We had the privilege of transforming their venue with custom event decor, capturing timeless formal portraits, and hosting a photo booth experience that kept guests smiling all night long.

It takes a lot of people working together seamlessly to put on any event, but especially large events.

This past week our team was fortunate enough to be part of two large events:
- The Mark Your Mark! Self-Advocacy Conference in Ames
- The 2026 - 132nd Wing Military Ball in Des Moines

While working on these events we had the privilege of working with the following amazing teams:
- Heather and the team at Capture Management Solutions
- Gateway Hotel & Conference Center- Ames
- Hilton Des Moines Downtown -
- Joanne's Event Rentals
- Rieman Music - Urbandale
- Sami and the rest of the 132nd Wing Military Ball Organizing Committee
- Celebrations Party & Rental Store - Ames
- Something Blue

Every one of these groups and organizations were great partners in our success in carrying out our responsibilities for these events.

I particularly want to thank the staffs at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center and the Hilton Des Moines Downtown for going above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed whether that be a convenient way to fill vases with water for 40 tables, to providing a vacuum for the red carpet, to gathering all of the table runners, chair sashes, and centerpiece decor from the tables and placing them on one table for us to pack up at the end of the evening.

Thank you to all of the above individuals and groups for helping us to help these groups have amazing events!
