Bows? 🎀 Yeah… they just don’t like me. 😂

No matter how many times I try, they just hang there sagging like shoelaces by the time guests walk in. And let’s not even talk about how long it takes me to actually get one “perfect.”

So, I stopped fighting with bows and started doing this instead. 👏🏽

It takes way less time, looks clean and elegant without effort, and doesn’t droop halfway through the event. Simple. Polished. Beautiful.

If you’ve ever been personally victimized by chair sash bows, like me🙋🏽‍♀️, we may be eligible for compensation in a couple more years🤣 In the meantime, this is your sign to try a new method.

DIY event girlies 👀📣 Head to the front of the class please!

If you’re anything like the old me—raising your hand to decorate with zero experience 😅—go ahead and save this super simple focal point you can actually pull off for the next baby shower … without stressing yourself out.

Remember, SIMPLE is your SUPERPOWER 💥💪🏾🦸🏽

No overthinking, no extra tools, just clean, cute, and confidence-boosting.

You don’t need a ton of materials for this.

All you need are:

• An arch (with a cover, if it’s the metal arch)
• A balloon pump
• 40 - 12” Balloons
• 16 - 5” Balloons
• 6 - 260 Balloons
• 1 clamp or binder clip (to attach the balloons to the arch)
• 1 teddy bear
• 1 inch ribbon
• Baby blocks (These are what I had laying around. I’d suggest using bigger blocks though. I got mine from Hobby Lobby.)
• An easel (to hold your welcome sign)

One of the questions I get all the time about The Front Room: “But how much space is actually left once tables and chairs are set up?”

Here’s the honest answer, it really depends on how you set it up.

In this setup, we’re using three six-foot tables with seating for 16, and everyone fits comfortably without the room feeling tight. There’s still space to walk around, pull chairs out, serve food, and actually enjoy being in the room (no awkward squeezing past each other 😅).

That’s the beauty of this space, it’s flexible! So, whether you’re hosting a workshop, meeting, class, or intimate girls night, the layout can be customized to match your vision and your flow.

Let’s normalize transparent conversations around money.

We’ve all seen the Facebook or Threads posts where a friend or family member is seeking recommendations for an “affordable event decorator”. This is possibly one of the worst ways to find a vendor. If you do this, stop🛑✋🏾 Like right now, stop!

Here’s why …

“Affordable” looks different for everyone, and that’s okay. What isn’t helpful is starting a conversation without clarity. So what happens is, you get tons of tags for some amazing vendors, you follow up with a few, only to find out they’re all out of your price range and then you’re back at square one looking for more recommendations.

Do this instead …

If you’re seeking recommendations or are interested in working with a particular vendor, share your budget up front. That allows for a quick determination of alignment and the ability to move forward with honesty without any time being wasted.

What’s affordable for one may not be affordable for another, but keep in mind there’s a perfect vendor for every budget ☺️

Whew! What a year 2025 was🥹 It owes me nothing!

As I step into a new year, my heart is full.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opening of our venue and all the celebrations, connections, and memories already created within its walls.

POV: I’m in full event-setup mode, manifesting excellence and smooth execution… meanwhile my ‘assistant’ is in the background chasing her TikTok dreams like rent is due 😂📱

I had no idea that help would come with choreography, trending sounds, and zero awareness of centerpieces being slightly crooked.

Good help isn’t hard to find… good help is hard to keep focused on the task at hand 🤣
But honestly, if the event had flopped at least we’d have content. And if the video went viral, I was prepared to add ‘Social Media Director’ to her resume. 🤭🤭
