My name is Colleen Kanan. I am a woman who wears many hats, as the saying goes. I have always loved crafting, designing, and making art.

Serving the Twin Cities & Brainerd Lakes Areas, Minnesota I am a wife, a mother, a photographer, a videographer, a crafter, a homesteader… There are many things I do and I love them all! My parents introduced me

to the artist life, as I grew up helping them create natural handcrafted bath and body products for their small business (All Things Herbal). With all the creativity of that lifestyle, I knew the artist life was for me! Most of all, I love to create/capture beautiful and meaningful things. Photography and videography have grown into my favorite ways of capturing the art of life. I love getting the shot that radiates emotion, the shot that keeps you looking back at it. I love editing raw footage into gorgeous memorials of special moments. It is an art of taking what is already there, something that is real and that happened, and capturing it to remember for always. Real, simple things are my favorite things. Laura Ingalls Wilder once said, “It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” Ever since I saw her quote, I have kept it close to my heart. My goal in life is to enjoy all of the sweet, simple things, and I hope to help other enjoy them too! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about me or my work. 🍁 What are we grateful for this Thanksgiving?

The girls and I welcomed another little lady to our girl gang — Naomi Colleen Kanan, born on my birthday, October 17th! One of the greatest blessings in the midst of a really hard year. I gave birth to her without an epidural, a goal I reached with the incredible support of my friend Sean — and she was my biggest baby yet at 9 lb 1 oz!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Naomi’s arrival — the shower, cards, gifts, meals, messages, and visits. We’ve been overwhelmed in the best way by the love surrounding us. And for all the friends and family who reached out, checked in, and helped us through these past several months — I will never forget your kindness during this season. It’s been a year of heartbreak, but also a year covered in God’s faithfulness.

The leaves are falling, and so is my patience! Just kidding.. mostly 😏 Of course the girls and I can’t wait to meet this little one — but I’m holding on to these last slow, sweet days before everything changes again 🍂🤎
