✨Newborn sweetness in the studio✨

I had the sweetest session with this beautiful family, and my heart is still so full. This new mama became a friend back when we got our puppy Rosie from her — they had just started dating then, and now I had the honor of photographing their first baby 🥹

And just look at this little guy’s HAIR… he is absolutely his daddy’s twin 😍

We shot this session in the most beautiful rented studio space just five minutes from my house, and I’m officially obsessed with how warm and cozy it feels for newborns.

Now that I'm settled back in Pequot Lakes, I’m opening my books for newborn sessions and would love to welcome more families into my world of soft, simple, timeless portraits.

🍁 What are we grateful for this Thanksgiving?

The girls and I welcomed another little lady to our girl gang — Naomi Colleen Kanan, born on my birthday, October 17th! One of the greatest blessings in the midst of a really hard year. I gave birth to her without an epidural, a goal I reached with the incredible support of my friend Sean — and she was my biggest baby yet at 9 lb 1 oz!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Naomi’s arrival — the shower, cards, gifts, meals, messages, and visits. We’ve been overwhelmed in the best way by the love surrounding us. And for all the friends and family who reached out, checked in, and helped us through these past several months — I will never forget your kindness during this season. It’s been a year of heartbreak, but also a year covered in God’s faithfulness.

Big News: Part 2!

As if moving back to Minnesota wasn’t exciting enough… we have one more surprise up our sleeves — another baby Kanan is arriving this October! 🍼✨

We just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary — a whole decade of life, love, and a growing crew — and what better way to mark the milestone than with another little one on the way? 💍💛

This time around, I’m keeping the gender a surprise (much to the dismay of my very curious husband and the girls 😅). I just love the idea of dreaming, wondering, and savoring that moment of “It’s a…” when we finally meet him or her earthside.

It’s a season full of change, gratitude, and joyful anticipation. We can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds! 💙💗

✨ Looking forward to 2025 and all the experiences it will bring!

We’re ringing in the New Year in our motorhome, heading back to Pennsylvania from a heartwarming holiday visit with family and friends in Minnesota and North Dakota 🥂

Next week, I’m kicking off the year with a refreshing retreat in 30A, Florida, alongside some of my favorite photography friends from my LTL mastermind group! It’s been a while since our last meetup in Savannah, GA, and I can’t wait to reconnect. While this trip is business-focused, I’m also treating myself to some much-needed self-care and adult time 😉—though I’ll definitely miss my three little ladies at home.

I’m thrilled to start a new chapter for my photography business here in PA. The warmth and support we’ve felt from our new community have been incredible, and I can’t wait to serve new clients in this chapter of my journey.
