Be true to you~
😞Today I read a comment that broke my heart and I wanted to share it with you.
The comment said “I’m happy for you and I love what you are doing for us, but sometimes I feel bad about myself when you are doing so well. I feel like I am not enough and it makes me sad”😞
My heart hurts when I read something like this because I understand... I get it and it’s a human thing to feel bad when someone we know seems to be doing great...
I feel shy about my success on YouTube for that exact reason, I don’t want anyone to feel bad about themselves based on how they see me. I want others to see the best version of themselves when they see me instead... to notice in themselves the good things they see in me, and see all the possibilities that are hidden inside their own selves.
My life journey has been challenging, every step of the way, from early childhood to now, and the good that you see is a result of me overcoming all/(some) of those challenges and making a decision to know and master myself, rather than know myself in relation to another’s opinion of me.
There are times, especially on social media, when we are shown a certain perspective that can alter our point of view, which can lead to us comparing between what we are seeing on our screen and what we are experiencing in real life. When we compare ourselves to others, we diminish our worth. Our value and our strength as well as our faults and learning opportunities are not mutually exclusive to somebody else’s: there is room for all of us to shine, all at once.
Life is not so straightforward most of the time, and we are all just doing the very best we can. We don’t need to add to that pressure to be something we are not. Focus on the you that want be be-ing, the version of you that is strong and powerful and resolute in thought.
Know thyself. See the good in yourself. Honour your individuality. Honour your journey.
Only YOU can do you, and no one on this planet can do it better...
