Late Summer & Fall Family Sessions Are Booking Now!!

Dying at a few sneaks from this morning’s bright and early session.

Beat the heat and the crowds at 8AM and it was SO worth it. 😍😍

The getting ready part of a wedding day does not always look quiet and polished.

Sometimes it looks like card games, snacks on the table, half-finished drinks, jackets hanging on the wall, and everyone trying to stay loose before the ceremony starts.

I like photographing these parts because they give the gallery more personality. The formal photos matter, but the in-between pieces help people remember what the day actually felt like before everything became official.

Who can resist another kiss on the way out the door?

This was right after the ceremony, when everyone was starting to shift into the next part of the day and these two stopped for one more dip before leaving the room.

I love exit photos that still show the space around the couple. The wood floor, the chandeliers, the guests in the background, and that just-married energy all stay in the frame.

Wind, overcast skies, and a quiet portrait window in the Gorge.

I love when wedding portraits have a little movement in them: hair moving, flowers shifting, the couple settling into each other for a second before heading back to the rest of the day.

You do not need perfect weather for wedding photos that feel personal. Sometimes the softer light, the darker sky, and the wind give the photos more mood than a bright sunny day would have.

Getting ready photos can be some of the most useful images in a wedding gallery.

The dress is out, hair is being finished, people are moving in and out of the room, and the day has not fully picked up speed yet. These photos help document the part of the wedding that often feels like a blur once everything starts.

I like photographing getting ready coverage with a mix of quiet details and real moments. The goal is to show what the morning actually felt like without making everyone perform for the camera.

Wedding portraits do not need to feel overly posed to be worth printing.

A little direction goes a long way: where to stand, how to settle in, what to do with your hands, when to pause for a second. From there, the best photos usually come from letting people move naturally instead of freezing them into something that does not feel like them.

I want couple portraits to feel polished enough for the wall and relaxed enough that you still recognize yourselves in them.

Reception games always bring out the best reactions.

The shoe game is one of those parts of a wedding day where people relax, laugh a little louder, and forget about the timeline for a few minutes. It gives guests something to react to, and it gives the couple a chance to be playful in the middle of the reception.

A wide ceremony photo gives the whole scene some breathing room.

The couple at the front, the wedding party beside them, guests watching from the pews, phones up, flowers along the aisle, and the room they chose for that part of the day.

I like including images like this in a wedding gallery because they show the setting and scale of the ceremony. Years later, it helps people remember where everyone was and what the room felt like before the day moved into portraits and reception.
