What was supposed to be just an anniversary photoshoot turned into something so much more. He had mentioned the question would come at some point that weekend. But when the sky opened up — clear, golden, rare for this city — I couldn’t help but suggest he take this moment. And he did.

Her surprise was pure, her joy undeniable. The way they held each other in the minutes that followed was holy in its own way. A reminder that love, when it’s chosen and nurtured, is worth celebrating.

I’ve known them since the early days, around the same time my wife and I were just beginning. To witness the years that have grown them, and to stand here for this moment — it mattered to me more than I can say. Photography has never just been about images for me. It’s been about presence. About connection. About standing in the middle of people’s joy and saying with my camera: this moment matters.

And it does.

To every couple stepping into engagement — whether it was a quiet yes in private or a celebration with family and friends — may this season bring you closer, grow you deeper, and remind you often that love is both gift and work.

There’s something magical about San Francisco City Hall. The light dances differently here — softer, more romantic, as if it knows it’s about to witness a love story.

R&V’s day was that perfect blend of heritage and elegance — the deep crimson of her lehenga shimmering with gold, his ivory sherwani standing tall against the grand marble arches. The garlands of roses and jasmine weren’t just florals — they were heirlooms in bloom, tying together tradition and the modern beauty of this space.

They walked slowly through the halls, hand in hand, taking in the stillness before the ceremony. I watched as she leaned her head on his shoulder, and he smiled — the kind of smile that says, “I’m home.”

There’s something I want to gently but honestly speak on—not to call anyone out, but to shed light on the unseen labor and heart that goes into what we do as photographers.

Recently, I spent a lot of time with a potential client: on consultation calls, answering messages, reviewing details, learning their story, crafting a package tailored to them. I offered a discount—more than I normally would—because I genuinely wanted to make it work.

But even after all of that, they continued to push for — more deliverables, more compromises. At some point, I had to pause and ask myself:
“If someone says they value my work, my time, my eye, my heart… why are they asking me to do it for less?”

What we charge isn’t just for showing up with a camera for an hour or two. It’s for everything you don’t see:
• The hours spent planning and communicating
• The years of experience, training, and refinement
• The emotional awareness we bring to document meaningful moments
• The gear, software, and post-production time
• The vision and perspective that only comes from living and breathing this craft

I don’t take it personally when someone can’t meet my rates. But I do take it seriously when someone says they value what I do, and then asks me to devalue it.

So here’s a note to anyone booking creative professionals:
If you love the work—truly love it—trust the price reflects what it takes to create it.

You don’t need a plane ticket to find stunning scenery. These Bay Area spots feel like hidden getaways—perfect for romantic, cinematic portraits.

Over the years, I’ve found a handful of locations around the Bay Area that just photograph beautifully. Whether it’s the way the light filters through the trees, or how a spot makes you feel like you’re in your own little world—these places have never let me (or my couples) down.

Hard to believe it’s already been 10 years since Sean and Crystal’s wedding. Time really does fly.

Their grand entrance to the reception was unforgettable — the energy, the joy, the way they looked at each other. Still one of my favorite memories to capture.

Laura & Robert — 15 Years of Love ❤️

It was an absolute honor to capture Laura and Robert’s 15-year anniversary session in the city where their love story once blossomed—San Francisco Bay Area. Though they’ve since moved away, this place still holds a special piece of their hearts, and coming back to commemorate such a milestone was deeply meaningful.

We spent the morning in two of the city’s most iconic locations—Crissy Field with the Golden Gate Bridge standing tall in the background, and the romantic architecture of the Palace of Fine Arts. Their energy was playful, colorful, and full of light, a reflection of the beautiful life they’ve built together.

As someone who’s newly married, I have an even deeper appreciation for what it takes to grow together. Marriage is a journey—one filled with joy, challenge, growth, and grace. It’s not always easy, but that’s what makes 15 years so worth celebrating. It’s a testament to their commitment, resilience, and the love that continues to evolve with each chapter.

There are moments we’re asked to witness
that feel too tender for words.
Not the posed smiles or the golden light,
but the ones that ask for stillness.
Presence.
Reverence.

A husband holds his wife a little longer.
A mother’s eyes drift somewhere far away.
A laugh carries the weight of a thousand yesterdays.
These are not just photographs—
they are goodbyes in disguise.

Sometimes, we are called
not to preserve beauty,
but to capture what is fading.

The softness of aging hands.
The silence between breaths.
The invisible thread between generations
that’s loosening, gently.

We press the shutter,
knowing this moment may not come again.
Not like this.
Not with them.

This is the work that changes us.
The kind no one sees on the surface—

This Easter Sunday ✨ I’m opening up my schedule to give back to the community that’s welcomed us so warmly.

From 3–6PM on April 20 (Sunday), I’ll be offering complimentary 15-minute spring mini sessions at Julliard Park in Santa Rosa — a beautiful time of year with the blossoms in full bloom and families gathering to celebrate.

Each session includes:
• 15-minute portrait window with your loved ones
• 5 edited high-resolution images delivered via private online gallery (a $200 value)
• Option to purchase more photos if you’d like — but no pressure at all!

This is just my way of spreading love, celebrating Easter (He is Risen!) ✝️ and making space for new connections in our Santa Rosa community.
