Data! What do we do with it, better yet, how do we handle YOUR data? Traditionally, photographers rely on 3rd party cloud services and sometimes also their own hard drives. Sometimes it’s just one or the other. The issue with that is A, hard drives fail, and while typically reliable, 3rd party cloud services aren’t fool proof. And now with AI taking data centers at an unprecedented rate, I am genuinely concerned about what data storage will look like in the coming years, as well as the increase in cost. As the owner of a company that handles a larger than typical volume of data for hundreds of couples each year, I feel an especially strong responsibility to ensure the safe keeping of your data. That means having full control and redundancy, and that’s exactly what I did. I built a server from the ground up, filled it with brand new hard drives with complete redundancy, so if one fails, it doesn’t matter, there will be 31 more available drives to safeguard your data. Installed our own cloud on that server and then ran a dedicated fiber line to that server. This is a 32 bay server with 20tb drives in each bay. 640 terabytes of storage, 320 actively usable with 320 redundant incase of failure. Essentially, we put your data in Fort Knox and you can trust, nothing can happen to it.
