Best Choral Performance

Recorded live at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Jader Bignamini's new recording of Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," is on the GRAMMY® ballot in the category of Best Choral Performance.

This Pentatone release features soprano Chen Reiss, countertenor Reginald Mobley, and baritone Andrzej Filończyk alongside Detroit-based vocal ensemble Audivi and the Detroit Opera Youth Chorus.

New musician alert! Join us in welcoming this talented group to the DSO. Following successful auditions, Joseph Brown (Assistant Principal Trumpet), Zola Hightower (Viola), Sanford Whatley (Viola), Alon Hayut (Assistant Principal Cello, Dorothy and Herbert Graebner Chair), and Bennet Huang (Cello) join the orchestra full-time.

Additionally, Luke Fitzpatrick, Kristi Crago (returning), and Jeremy Sreejayan join us with long term contracts.
