Welcome to the BBDE family. I’ve already said it. I love when Virginia is a couples destinations spot. These two from New Zealand and Japan will be saying their I Do’s at one of my favorite mountain venues, at the end of October.
We have a lot to get done in our short time together and always so thankful when a couple knows and trusts that they are in good hands. Especially when there is a 16 hour time change.

Already have some stunning fall designs planned as we will be planning, designer, and florist for these two.

Working with out of state couples is so very precious. I adore destination weddings in reverse. Let the fun begin.

So much excitement this morning getting to see these beauties. Abbey & Trevor were so much fun to plan with. They knew right from the start the vision for their day. I will forever be honored that they chose me to be by their side.

Thank you to all the pros that made this day what it was for two very special people.

ITS MOVING DAY!!!! Let me tell you. Cavalier Moving - Richmond’s Clean-Cut Movers is the best investment made in this whole process. These guys are very professional, respectful and a pleasure.

Our move is not easy by any means and while 80% of the house was pretty much ready to go, the remaining 20% not so much and that 20%… well we slacked a little on.

They have been on site for less than an hour a they have wrapped everything, they are loading a trailer to dads, a donate trailer and 2 trucks.

Charles was fantastic from the beginning, walking me through all our options. Yes we are further from Richmond, but when a perfect referral comes in from someone you know and trust. Why fight it.

Thank you Cavalier for making a hard day so easy. (And we have just started).

We lost a beautiful soul today. There really is no words that can describe Woody Campbell. I had the profound honor of knowing Woody and his wife Evy through my years in the wedding world. Woody was the perfect officiant and all of my couples or any couple for that matter, was blessed to have him marry them. Witnessing the love that Woody and Evy shared would inspire any couple. It is a high bar to reach. Their arms and their hearts were always open.
To Woody, your friendship, wisdom and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

To Evy, I grieve along side of you. I know the kind of hole that has been left behind. It’s a hole that may never get filled. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and if you ever need anything, please never hesitate to reach out.

I don’t like the limelight, never have. I love what I do and the reasons why I do them. For me, volunteering for causes I am passionate about is what fills my heart. No matter where my life stage may be, giving of myself is the most gratifying.

I am humbled and honored to be able to work with such a great team Friday. Rachael has always been such a force of nature with everything she touches. Friday was no exception. Seeing the vision come to life and the magic was just spectacular….

Oh… And if I never have to touch another balloon this year. Won’t upset me at all. I know I am not the only one 🤣💕

It helps to have an extra professional event planner on site for such a massive undertaking. She, Callie, and I have been making plans and sorting details for months!

She and I were just chatting MONTHS ago about upcoming events during our off-season from weddings, and I mentioned Night To Shine.

She lit up! "Do you need help?! Can I help? What's the date? It's officially on my calendar!!"

She checked in regularly, asking what I needed. Brought a truck load of extra decor from her business warehouse and paid for her own hotel for 2 nights to come help the day before and with full breakdown the night of! (She lives over an hour away.) She didn't shy away from anything from making balloon arches, to clearing trash, to handling breakdown of the main room, to running the photobooth while our attendant took a break. She was a sounding board, a fellow special needs advocate, and an incredible friend throughout the entire prep and event.

I'm so thankful for her always. But especially those 48 hours she came in to support Riverwood and Night to Shine RVA
