The Bloom Hill goats have one very strong opinion: Christmas trees are a winter delicacy!🎄🐐
If you’re wondering what to do with your real Christmas tree after the holidays, our herd would love to help! Pine and fir trees aren’t just a treat, they’re actually beneficial for goats during the winter months.
Why Christmas trees are good for goats:
🌲Provide natural enrichment and prevent winter boredom
🌲Offer roughage that supports healthy digestion
🌲Contain natural compounds that can support parasite management
🌲Encourage natural browsing behavior (just like they’d do in the wild!)
🌲Smell amazing and make winter feeding extra fun
If you’re bringing a tree by, please make sure it meets these guidelines so our goats stay happy and healthy:
🌲Real trees only - fir, spruce and pine are all fine
🌲No flocking, fake snow, paint, glitter, or preservatives
🌲No tinsel, lights, ornaments, nails, or wire
All you have to do is drop it off by the flower stand at our Hoover farm - 10475 Hoover Avenue NW, Uniontown!
Thanks for helping us turn post-holiday waste into winter enrichment for our sweet critters!
Please feel free to share this to spread the word! Thank you!
