There is a strange little gap between the ceremony and reception when everyone has just finished crying, hugging, and taking approximately 47 family photos, and now they're wondering what happens next.

That hour can go one of two ways.

People can stand around waiting for dinner…

… or they can grab a drink, find their friends, wander over to the pool, settle into a lounge chair, and start talking about the ceremony they just watched.

We like the second version of cocktail hour a lot better.

Splurge on what's important to you.

One couple will look at a floral installation and think, "I want someone who does this for a living."

Another will look at the same thing and think, "I could make something beautiful myself."

Neither couple is wrong.

The better question isn't whether you should DIY your wedding. It's which parts of the day you want to spend your own time on, and which ones you'd rather hand over to a professional.

Take florals, for example.

Hire a florist if:

You have a specific floral vision, want installations or large arrangements, don't want to spend the week before your wedding assembling bouquets, or simply love what a professional can create.

Consider DIY if:
You're keeping the floral design simple, genuinely enjoy making things, have a reliable group helping you, and understand the time involved in sourcing, transporting, arranging, and setting everything up.

And we'd give the same advice about other parts of the wedding. Catering, photography, music, coordination, decor, invitations. There isn't one right answer for every couple.

That's also why we give our couples vendor flexibility. You can bring the professionals you already love, choose from our preferred vendors, or decide where you'd rather do something yourself.

We want you to spend your time and your money on the parts of your wedding you care about most.

If you're planning a Florida wedding and trying to figure out where to splurge, where to save, and when to bring in a professional, save this post for later.

There are plenty of ways to walk into a wedding ceremony, but we have a pretty good argument for making an entrance through a giant wooden door in the middle of the garden.

Our door stands at the entrance to Sunset Grove, with the garden opening up around it and the lake view waiting beyond the ceremony space.

It creates one of those little pauses before the aisle, when the people waiting on the other side can see the door open and suddenly realize, here we go.

And then you walk through.

If you're looking for a ceremony entrance that's a little different from the usual walk down the aisle, come see Sunset Grove in person. We'd love to show you where it begins.

The places we remember aren't because of every detail of how they looked. We remember who was there, and how we felt in that moment. ✨

When your family gathers for a wedding, the venue becomes part of that memory. Grandparents watching from garden seats. Kids running between the trees while the light fades. The market lights glowing overhead as the evening settles in.

Years from now, no one remembers the exact flowers. They remember standing together, watching two people they love start a new chapter.

If this is the kind of day you're picturing for your family, we'd love to show you around.

Every couple has their own idea of the perfect ending to a wedding day. For some, it's a night walk together after the last dance. For others, it's one more song with everyone still on the dance floor.

And every now and then, it's this. A jump into the pool, still wearing the wedding dress and tuxedo, while everyone cheers from the edge.

Not many wedding venues in Central Florida have a pool that's part of the celebration. It's one of those details couples don't always think about when they start planning, but it has a way of becoming one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

If you're looking for a venue where your wedding day can go exactly how you picture it, pool jump included, we'd love to show you around Lakeview Gardens.

Your wedding might be the reason everyone travels to Orlando, but you already know what happens when people start making a trip out of it.

Someone is planning a theme park day. Someone is searching for the best place for a rehearsal dinner. Someone is saying, “Since we’re already here, we should stay an extra night.”

That’s one of the best parts about celebrating near Orlando. Your guests have an entire destination to enjoy before and after the wedding.

They can explore Universal Epic Universe, visit Sloth World on International Drive, try new restaurants in places like Winter Park and Winter Garden, then come together for your wedding day surrounded by the gardens at Lakeview Gardens.

And when the celebration is over, Garden Cottage gives your closest people a place to slow down and enjoy one more morning together before heading home.

Because sometimes the best wedding memories happen in the moments around the ceremony too.

The only person who should be sweating at an outdoor wedding is the groom waiting for the ceremony to begin. 😅 |

Because there's a big difference between asking your guests to sit outside and inviting them into an outdoor experience.

When guests arrive for a garden ceremony, they don't just find their seats and wait. They take in the trees around them, catch up with family, notice the breeze moving through the greenery, and settle into the feeling of the day.

That's the part couples sometimes don't think about when they picture an outdoor wedding in Florida.

The setting is already shaping the moment before the first note of the ceremony music even plays. If you're imagining an outdoor wedding surrounded by nature, we'd love to show you what makes Lakeview Gardens feel different.

If you've spent any time on wedding IG lately, there's a good chance you've seen the groom dancing to Justin Bieber while his bride watches from her seat with the biggest smile on her face.

Yep... that's Emily and Aaron. 😄

The internet got to see one unforgettable moment from their wedding day. We had the privilege of seeing everything that came before and after it, too.

Emily and Aaron, thank you for letting us be part of your day. We hope every time you look back at these photos, they remind you of just how much fun it was to marry your best friend.

Congratulations again. We couldn't be happier for you. 🤍

We know most couples don't start planning their wedding the day they book a venue.

By then, you’ve probably saved hundreds of ideas, followed photographers whose work you love, and maybe even found a florist or DJ you already know you want on your wedding day.

We've never understood why booking a wedding venue should mean breaking up with your favorite photographer.

At Lakeview Gardens, it doesn't. We believe in vendor freedom!

Bring your own vendors, choose from our preferred vendor list, or create a combination that feels right for you. Whether you've already built your dream team or you're still looking for recommendations, we'll meet you where you are in the planning process.

Some couples want guidance. Others already know exactly who they want standing beside them on their wedding day. We think both should feel welcome here.

If you're still gathering ideas, our free Wedding Planning Guide is a great place to start. It includes planning tips, questions to ask during venue tours, and recommendations for trusted wedding vendors we've loved working with over the years.

If you flip through a wedding gallery from beginning to end, you'll notice the story starts long before the ceremony.

It starts while the dress is still hanging, someone is steaming the veil, your bridesmaids are helping with the final touches, and there's always one person looking for the earrings that seemed to disappear five minutes ago.

Those are the moments that fill the Garden View Suite before anyone takes their seat for the ceremony, and they're often some of the first photos couples look back on after the wedding.

One of those photos is usually taken just before you leave the room. It's one of the last photos of you before you become a wife, and it becomes part of the story just as much as the walk down the aisle.

If you're picturing your own wedding day, we'd love to show you the spaces where those first chapters begin. Come visit Lakeview Gardens and see them for yourself. 🤍
