MEET THE DIRECTOR: DR. DAVID CRAWFORD

There’s something especially meaningful happening behind the scenes of The Book of Will.

Dr. David Crawford spent more than 40 years teaching theatre at Tyler Junior College, helping educate, encourage and shape generations of performers throughout East Texas. His influence can still be seen on stages across our community—including ours.

Now, for the first time, Dr. Crawford is directing at Tyler Civic Theatre Center, and there’s a wonderful full-circle element to this production: many of the actors in The Book of Will are his former students.

A play about friendship, legacy and passing something meaningful from one generation to the next feels like a pretty perfect story for him to tell.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Crawford at the helm of this special production—and we can’t wait for you to see what he and this talented cast have created together.
