Hey All. A little update on our very own.
Tim McEwen was recently diagnosed with calciphylaxis, which is terminal. We are absolutely devastated, as we wanted him to watch his grandbabies grow. Life has been so unfair for our family, but we still have each other.
The medical bills for Tim have become astronomical, and we are hopeful that he can build up strength from his post leg amputation, so he can at least have some time at home. Please pray for a miracle. Some people can go into remission with this disease, but it’s very rare.
Currently he is at UC Davis, and will go back into a great rehab facility, but it’s very costly. There they can help him build some strength to where he can at least get in and out of a wheelchair. His wife, Patti McEwen, has been traveling back and forth, and recently had to leave her job due to taking care of Tim.
The McEwen family loves you all, and we will try and keep you updated as we can.
Update on Tim McEwen as of 11/20-
He is out of his second surgery. Originally he had his leg amputated to just below the knee but due to poor blood flow (a complication of the calciphlaxis) he had to go into a second surgery today to get it further amputated to above the knee. With two blood clots in his lungs, he went into surgery today and we were very anxious. But he’s a couple hours post op, recovering in the ICU and doing well. He’s in and out of sleep but cracking jokes with the nurses when he is awake. He’s in some pain-to be expected but overall doing well.
Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and support. It means the world to us.
