Lin & Jirsa Photography

Lin & Jirsa Photography Wedding Photography & Cinematography Studio The 5 Tenets of Lin and Jirsa are as follows:

1. Where words fail, our imagery speaks.
(300)

Strive to capture the intangible, the inexplicable.

2. Many of life’s best moments are unexpected. Anticipate and seek these moments.

3. Always appreciate our clients because they enable us to do what we love.

4. Push the boundaries of creativity, using any and every available tool – Wedding photographers should be using professional grade camera and lighting equipment. Wedding photographers ar

e artists; therefore must have a deep understanding of artistic theory including concepts on composition, lighting, color, design, balance, etc.

5. Strive for technical and compositional perfection in every image – Wedding photographers are constantly in unusual lighting situations with significant time constraints. Thus, wedding photographers must be masters of their equipment. Being able to adjust camera settings quickly, anticipate lenses needed for each scene, use on and off-camera lighting techniques, etc. are crucial to being able to create a professional product.

Here is why weddings matter. (Swipe.)

These are the moments we live for as photographers: the tears that cannot be held back, the emotions too big for words, the reactions that happen faster than thought. You see it in the guests first. The way a mother’s hand flies to her mouth. The way a best friend’s shoulders start to shake. The way grown men suddenly need their pocket squares.

Then you see it in the couple. The moment they truly see each other. The vows that hit deeper than expected. The realization of what is actually happening right now.

We do not create these moments. We cannot manufacture them or pose them into existence. What we can do is anticipate them. We know which part of the ceremony tends to hit hardest. We know where the emotions build and where they break. We position ourselves not to interfere, but to witness. To be ready when the walls come down and the real feelings show up.

This is documentary photography at its core: staying invisible until something real happens, then making sure it lives forever.

The reflection shot is one of our most requested techniques, and for good reason. It transforms a simple portrait into something layered and intentional. But here is what most photographers get wrong: they focus on the reflection instead of the subjects.

The reflection should enhance the story, not become the story. We position the couple first, nail the connection and the light on their faces, then use the reflective surface to add depth and visual interest. Whether it is a puddle after rain, a glass window, or polished marble, the reflection creates symmetry and doubles the visual impact without doubling the effort.

The technique itself is straightforward: get low, find your angle, and watch your focus point. We almost always focus on the actual couple, letting the reflection fall slightly softer. This keeps the hierarchy clear. They are the subject. The reflection is the accent.

What makes this work is the clean composition. No distracting elements, just the couple and their mirrored image creating a complete visual story. This is the kind of shot that looks effortless but requires intention at every step.

Golden hour hit different… and then it kept going.
From soft sunlight pouring through windows, to that perfect glow at the edge of the ocean, to a night sky that felt like it was theirs alone—this is what it looks like when a day refuses to be anything less than unforgettable🫶🏼🥰
