Today, we are highlighting one of our incredible clients in Birmingham: Urban Ministry.

Urban Ministry is doing more than meeting immediate needs of their community—they’re working alongside residents to build a thriving West End community rooted in compassion and wholeness.

Their work reaches across the community through programs that create meaningful, long-term impact, including affordable pathways to homeownership, workforce apprenticeships for young adults, academic enrichment for children, food and utility assistance, and the pay-what-you-can WE Cafe.

💭 Thoughtful Thursday
One funding source shouldn't determine whether your mission survives.

Organizations become more financially resilient when their funding strategy includes an intentional mix of appropriate revenue sources. That might include grants, individual donors, corporate partners, sponsorships, major gifts, events, contracts, earned revenue, or other mission-aligned opportunities. The right mix looks different for every nonprofit. The important part is making sure your organization isn't relying too heavily on a single source.

Your Executive Director doesn't have to be your entire development department. We can help!

Executive Directors often become CEO, HR, Operations, Community Relations, Program Support, Board Liaison, Fundraiser, Grant Researcher, Grant Writer, Donor Relations—and occasionally the person figuring out why the printer isn't working.

Outside funding support can provide additional capacity without requiring your organization to immediately build an entire internal development department.
