“Let me hear in the morning from your steadfast love, for I trust you.” (Ps.143:8)

Dear Lord Jesus, what we consume early impacts the rest of the day. I know this to be true, especially on the mornings when meager sleep or a heavy heart or a hurting body segue into the normal demands of life. When we break the evening fast only with caffeine + sugar—or if we skip breakfast all together, it is never the best choice Far more so, what we first put into our spirit, mind, and heart affects our whole being, whole day, and every relationship.
So, we make the psalmist’s cry our own: “Jesus, feed us early in the morning with your steadfast love, new mercies, and Gospel-riches.” That’s what we need more thananything else. Intermittent fasting is one thing, being “stoopid” is another. Failing to feast on your love is like fasting oxygen and water. Because only your love is better than life. Only your love meets the deepest needs of our hearts and satisfies our eternal cravings.
Only your love is unwavering, Jesus, for all other loves are filled with conditions and contingencies. Only your love is unfailing, for all other loves are fickle and finite. Only your love can heal the greatest heart-wounds and traumas we carry. Only your love can move us from navel-gazing fixating to kingdom living and loving. And, when it comes to your love, there are a bunch more “Only's.” So, this morning, mid-morning, for lunch, afternoon snack, early supper, and into-the-evening “snackage”—pour your love into our hearts afresh, Jesus (Romans 5:5). This is what the Sovereign God—the one true Father of eternity says to us: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. But you resist me. You mount your horses and ride away into your foolishness. But you can’t outrun my providence and my severe mercy. Heavenly Father, what a perfect passage to pray through on this Father's Day, for it reveals the greatness of your love and the depth of our need. You are the Father we always wanted and need.
The way you care for your people is incomparable and irresistible—yet foolishly we do resist. Whether through chronic unbelief, the illusion of self-sufficiency, the deceitfulness of sin... we find ways to ignore your heart and the resources of the Gospel. Yet you remain tenacious in your longing to be gracious to us.
Father, there are times when "riding off on swift horses" looks like a great option—when the demands upon us seem to far outweigh the resources within us. When we exhaust our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual reserves. When we feel as empty as the Grand Canyon is deep, or as angry as a cornered dragon, or as full of shame as the Pacific Ocean is full of salt water. Even then, you woo us to yourself. Especially then, we need you.
The call to repentance and rest, and quietness and trust, comes to us like a hug from heaven, a kiss from above. For repentance is collapsing on Jesus, not ramping up our commitment to do more and try harder. Abba, only your love is better than life. Only your mercies sufficient for our messes. Only your kindness is powerful enough to lead us to repentance. No one else can touch the deepest place in our hearts but you. On this Father’s Day, we praise, bless, and adore you. So Very Amen

Greetings!

It’s my full-time job - and really my passion - to make sure your visit is always a great one.

While I am part of a large organization, as an Owner-Operator, I’m actually an individual business partner of Chick-fil-A. This brings not only responsibility and accountability, which is good for Guests and our Team Members alike, it also allows me to bring a local flavor to the Restaurant.

A proud native of Mississippi, my wife, Trina, and I were married in 1988 and opened Mississippi’s first freestanding Chick-fil-A in 1995. We raised our children, Hanna and Dallas, here and I’ve had the privilege of serving at Lawndale Presbyterian Church and with the Community Development Foundation.

My Team Members are committed to loving this community and we enjoy using the Restaurant to host community events, Spirit Nights, and fundraisers. We also have a partnership with the Golden Angel Tree, which helps senior citizens at Christmas time and we work with the North Mississippi Medical Center, where we help families of Critical Care Unit patients. We are always looking for ways to server this area.
