Newborn lifestyle sessions are my absolute fave aside from birth itself - and it’s even more fun when it’s your sister (technically in-law but we’ve been by each other’s sides since we were 13 & 15 so I claim her as my own). Such a joy getting to watch her be such a tender and yet fierce mama to her littles, not to mention getting to raise our kiddos so close in age together! Love you, Bek. 😘

Realized I never officially introduced you guys to our family’s newest little love: Levi David (who is now 10 months old!) Born at home in the wee hours of the morning in what was such a precious and joy-filled moment that it still brings tears to my eyes to think of it. 😭

Something I’m learning about myself 3 kids in... is that my capacity for “extra” things like maintaining much of a social media presence in that first year postpartum (when sleep is at its most limited) is much lower than normal. I tend to want to hunker down and just BE... and that’s okay! Behind the scenes, I am still loving on my babies, loving on mamas in their own birthing journeys, and leaning into whatever the Lord has for me each day. Learning to trust the way He leads me on the daily! 🙌🏼

Excited to share more of what I’ve been up to in the months to come as my capacity slowly increases to whatever it’s going to look like long term with momming and homeschooling 3 kiddos. Thank you for your patience with me in the meantime. Much beauty still to come! 😍

Supported a precious mama and friend last night in the most healing and beautiful VBAC. She has been a warrior in every sense of the word, and her courage and strength last night were only a small fraction of what I’ve witnessed her demonstrate (and she was a BEAST so that’s saying something!) So honored to document her growing family’s stories! 🥰 Welcome baby Solomon!

This little cutie turned one not too long ago, and yesterday I got to deliver an “heirloom” film documenting her entire first year of life using clips I had filmed over each of our milestone sessions. I literally cried while editing it. Getting to look back on these precious moment as your littles grow is such a joy. 🥰

Now if only I can muster the energy in my soon-to-be postpartum haze to make sure to document my own family this way for a film for our third little guy’s first year! Does any other of my photographer friends out there struggle to consistently document your own fam? Or have you got a good system down? Please share your best tips with me! 🙌🏻

By far my favorite photo of the summer thus far. 😂

Other than births, my favorite sessions are taking lifestyle/documentary images of families and especially moms/babies. This mama wanted to play catch with her little one in the park and asked her mom to toss their *soft* soccer ball to them while they were swinging. This 100% candid shot captured the moment of impact and we were ALL laughing afterward (little man included!). One of those “happy (hilarious) accidents” that makes me extra grateful for a fast shutter speed. ✨📸

P.S. I know I’ve been quiet around here lately. COVID + late third trimester of my own pregnancy has left my schedule a little quieter and my thoughts a little more internal... but I’ve been missing this space and am hoping to share some more images from this special season soon! (Plus images from my own birth in the next month or so! 🥰) So excited for the season ahead!
