Day 4 at Star Roses did NOT disappoint! 🇪🇨

Sitting high up in the Ecuadorian Andes, it’s the perfect atmosphere for growing high-quality, extraordinary roses. There were roses growing so tall that the workers actually had to wear stilts to cultivate and process them. 🌹 Some of these beauties can grow over 5 feet tall and are popular exports to countries like Russia and other parts of Europe, where luxury is the standard.

One of our favorite activities was finding our very own roses throughout the farm, with each of our names on them! It was such a unique and fun way to experience the farm. After touring the beautiful greenhouses, we even got to visit their top-of-the-line floral paint shop and paint our very own roses! 🎨 Talk about taking the best souvenir home!

After touring the beautiful greenhouses, we enjoyed a delicious Ecuadorian lunch hosted by the phenomenal StarRose's team, then got busy with a couple of different workshops.

First up was a super unique way of making a calla lily boutonniere. Then came an impromptu storyline straight from the best in the business Varito Vasquez Aifd Fsmd. 4 different floral arrangements, one customer, and an urgent request… “Uber is coming!” 😂🌸

We were each assigned to one of the designs, split into teams, and challenged to finish an arch in under 30 minutes!

It was SO much fun! And, of course, one of the CDR staff team's won! 🏆

It was such a fun challenge, and we learned SO much! Not only from the instructors, but from our friends and fellow florists working alongside us.

We wrapped up the day at a really cute hotel in the heart of the city, followed by a quaint dinner with the group. Another unforgettable day in Ecuador! ❤️

Day 3 in Ecuador was another incredible day of flowers, learning, and unforgettable experiences!

We started our day at the beautiful Florisol Comunicaciones and immediately fell head over heels for their lilies and rose lilies. They were some of the prettiest we’ve ever seen!

We also visited their chrysanthemum farms and got to get our hands dirty learning how to harvest. 🌿

We had the opportunity to tour their labs where they propagate their plants and learn from the amazing people behind the process.

After a wonderful lunch (and espresso), we joined a design call and created a beautiful casket piece (for) the talented Pattie Rob Wallander.

We wrapped up the day at EC Flowers Fresh to your door, touring their facilities and spending time with some of the best in the business. They treated us like royalty and made us feel so welcomed and loved. We are so grateful for experiences like these and the friendships being made along the way! 🇪🇨

A little pink, a little playful.

This garden-style beauty is a mix of hot pink gerberas, blush gerberas, coral carnations, burgundy chrysanthemums, delicate alstroemeria, and lush greenery.

And of course, we had to add a little drama with those fun, curving greenery loops!

The second part of Day 2 in Ecuador took us to the super cool Cabanas Del Lago, where we dined surrounded by some of the most breathtaking Ecuadorian views! 🏔️

We learned so much about this beautiful country and how its volcanic landscape has shaped Ecuador. The country has 84 recognized volcanic structures, with 27 considered potentially active! 🌋

And that volcanic soil? It’s one of the reasons Ecuador is such an incredible growing region. The rich soil helps produce some seriously beautiful flowers, along with delicious fruits, vegetables, and coffee. 🌹 🍓 ☕️

We then dove into another design class, playing with flowers and creating luxury floral arrangements using exotic Ecuadorian tropicals. 🌺 After learning some fun tips and tricks from Pattie Rob Wallander, we gifted our arrangements to the amazing staff there at the restaurant!

We had a little time to relax before heading back to our hotel, all while building meaningful relationships with the EC Flowers team. This day was definitely a highlight of our trip, and the crazy part? It was only the first half of the week!
