We are grateful to have been a part of the 55th Annual Winter Street Fair held this past weekend in the historic district of Tucson, AZ.

Tucson's Street Fair is recognized as one of the premier community celebrations in the Southwest, a Top 100 event both nationally and internationally!

This Tucson tradition attracts more than 350,000 visitors and is a family-friendly event that promotes original, hand-made art, with 350+ artists from around the world.

Affordable Wedding Reception Centerpieces

The centerpieces for each table play a major role in setting the tone and style of your wedding. Centerpieces are one of the major focal points for your guests while they are eating their meal at the reception. Spectacular or unique centerpieces can add an element of sophistication or surprise to your event.

Centerpieces are traditionally flowers such as tall lilies to tightly packed roses. There are literally hundreds of floral centerpiece designs and combination that you could choose from.

After you shop around with the online specialists and check out different wedding supply shops and rental companies to see the different possibilities. Remember that you will need a centerpiece for every table, so it could get expensive if you are planning to invite a large guest list. Check the prices of the various arrangements to find one that meets your budget.

To get the most bang for your buck you could purchase the flowers yourself from a wholesaler and produce simple displays such as six tulips in an inexpensive glass vase. Bridesmaids’ bouquets can also be used as centerpieces to get the best value out of them.

For something a little different, instead of fresh cut flowers you could use potted plants as centerpieces. Paint and decorations can dress up terracotta pots so that they match the décor of the reception hall. Choose plants that flower in colors that compliment your scheme. They also make a lovely gift for those you would like to give them to and are less to clean up after the reception is over. This is not an unusual choice for many weddings and these centerpieces will last long after the big day has passed.

Candle centerpieces are a wonderful way of creating an air of romance and enchantment for your wedding especially if the reception is in the evening or if your venue is dimly lit. Obviously, if your reception is scheduled for the afternoon, or if there is lots of natural light, candles won’t produce the appropriate effect. You could purchase or rent candelabras for each table for an elegant look or consider the less formal appearance of floating candles in a large glass bowl.

All holders or bowls that you use must be heat-resistant and be sure to check with your venue for any restrictions they may have on the use of naked flames.

Another decorative choice is fruit. It’s a more unique choice than the traditional candles or flowers, usually readily available, and can also be eaten later in the evening! Other edible centerpiece choices include candy, chocolate lollipops or Hershey’s Kisses. Use your imagination to display whatever your edible centerpiece may be using glitter, streamers, or balloons.

Be as original as you like when it comes to your centerpieces, and you could choose something personal such as hand-written poems, a copy of your vows, or old family photographs in ornate picture frames.

For a themed wedding, create a unique centerpiece that reflects the wedding motif. For example, a bonsai tree, or large origami creations, would make wonderful centerpieces for an oriental themed wedding. Anything that matches your theme is best.
