🍇 Chateau de la Chapelle Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux - France

🍇 La Sacrestia Langhe Nebbiolo - Italy

March 20th is the perfect day to raise your glass to the rich, malty goodness of Bock Beer! Whether you're a long-time fan or just discovering this smooth, flavorful brew, today’s the day to savor the deep, toasty notes and celebrate this iconic style of beer.

🍺 About the History of Bock beer 🍺
What is Bock beer? This lager style was first brewed as an ale in Einbeck, northern Germany – a city known for brewing strong beers – in the 1300s. By the 1600s, brewers in Munich, Bavaria, made Bock beer their own using newly invented lagering techniques.

Pronounced “Einbock” in Bavarian dialect, its name ultimately was shortened to “Bock,” which also means “goat” in German. Some Bock beer names include “Ur,” which means “original,” and “Dunkel,” to differentiate the dark version from the light “Helles” style. Sometimes called “Traditional Bock,” Bock beer has a copper to dark-brown color and a rich malt character. Toast and caramel notes define the aroma and flavor, and very mild hops keep the malt sweetness from becoming cloying through the finish. In the United States, the availability of Bock-style brews tends to be outnumbered by those in the Doppelbock style, with Bocks often released seasonally, in the winter and spring.
