We work with many of our couples for a year or longer when planning the catering for their weddings. We email often, sometimes text or actually pick up the phone and call. We put ourselves into their event planning and try to grasp every vision they want to embrace. And then p**f- they're married! We're lucky enough to see so many ceremonies and celebrations. My wife and I hired First We Eat for our wedding, and could not have been happier with our choice. From the start, we were immediately drawn in by their menu options and great reviews. The catering manager, Megan, is an absolute pleasure to deal with. She was so friendly, responsive, and helpful with her knowledge and experience in her business. Between her and the Owner/Chef, Mathew, every detail was discussed, confirmed, and improved by their suggestions. Mathew prepared our tasting, and we were blown away by the flavor and presentation of each dish. On the day of our wedding, they both (with their staff) executed service perfectly. They were very professional in their appearances, attitudes, and work. The food all around was outstanding, and we received so many compliments about each course, as well as how polite, courteous, and attentive the servers were throughout the night. When it was over, they left the kitchen spotless and congratulated us again on their way out. I truly believe catering can make or break weddings, and with First We Eat, they went above and beyond any expectations we had and absolutely NAILED IT. I cannot say enough good things about this company, and would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.
I could hardly stop and get pictures yesterday as our team spread out and catered FIVE different events just on Saturday. Add that to Thursday, Friday, and today (Sunday), that’s feeding a grand total of almost 1000 people this weekend over nine events. It took everyone on hand to make it possible. It’s not often that we’re this busy on a Tuesday but when it’s 2/22/22, well….that’s a different story.

Part of the First We Eat team has been catering on remote sites in northern Arizona the past two days as we’ve fed 160 people a day doing a commercial shoot. With breakfasts as early as 5:30 am we’ve been able to serve them warm food to get the day started.
On-site caterings are a challenge that we’re happy to take on. Where are you going?

One of today’s caterings took us out of town and down to Bisbee, AZ to celebrate a wedding. So many things made this an exquisite event. Hosted at the Bisbee Courtyard, the celebration included two adorable venue pets and a musical set by Birds & Arrows (a group that I’ve been wanting to catch for two years- how serendipitous!).
The all-vegetarian menu created by chef Bruce Yim was finished and served on-site, with help of the O’Keefe Merritt, by Zio Peppe owner Chef Devon Sanner.
Turns out that Bisbee has a new patisserie and they provided the amazing looking (and tasting) tarts for dessert. I’ve been told to allow myself $35 per visit to the patisserie since there are so many delectable bites. Noted!
Such a sweet and love-filled day, with that special charm that only Bisbee can give.

A beautiful evening for a wedding with the sunset and Tucson mountains as your backdrop.
An arugula panzanella salad with green chili vinaigrette to start followed by either an airline chicken breast with pesto, morel risotto, and broccolini or a NY strip with bone marrow bordelaise and black garlic barlotto.
Not to mention two cakes: devils food with caramel filling or vanilla cake with mango cremeux.
Before we left we made sure they had plenty of carnitas and pollo asada with taco fixings and soft pretzel bites with warm cheese.
Something tells me this reception will go on til the wee hours!
We love to cater at our clients homes. It’s our joy to create a menu for you, bring our team to execute everything and then clean up as though we were never there.

We are extremely happy with First We Eat Catering!!! We had our tasting less than a week before our wedding, we met with the company and the moment we met the team we felt very comfortable! Everyone was very professional and friendly! You can immediately feel their team work effort! The food at our wedding was beyond amazing! The presentation and taste was on point! Our guests told us and I quote “the best fish I have ever had in my life” and “best food I have ever had at any wedding in my whole life”.
Our night was perfect! We trust them completely! Thank you so much for everything ❤️

Today the First We Eat team partnered with our Zio Peppe family to cater a celebration of life in the Expedition Tanzania exhibit of Reid Park Zoo for a well-loved friend and supporter of the Tucson Culinary Scene, Joaquín Kremer. Chef/owner Devon Sanner put out a number of savory and sweet passed hors d’oeuvres featuring teasers of the flavors of the new Zio Peppe menú.

Eat dessert first? Yes! A lovely themed dessert table for last night’s quinceneara featuring red velvet cupcakes, cake pops, churros, coconut mousse tarts, and butterfly sugar cookies.
A residential catering up in Oro Valley today for a sweet family celebrating their daughter. Started off with passed hors d’oeuvres, a radicchio and escarole salad, and then salmon and short ribs as the main course. It’s always such a joy to work with our guests from the start as we plan together and see everything through to the clean up after the meal.
Our baker created this stunning cake for a bride who requested a soft goth themed look with the darker pinks, browns, blacks, and fresh mint and berries for the top. Inside? Apple cake with caramel apple filling.

We've had the pleasure of creating a number of different wedding cakes however this is the first we did where the bride had the idea to use bougainvillea. It worked beautifully! Look at the pop of colors!

Picked up flowers for a cake for tonight’s wedding. Our chef has made a 100% vegan meal and they’ll be following the dinner with a three tier vegan cake. We love to support local and use Eric’s Flower Market for all of our cake florals. Check them out behind Raging Sage Coffee on Campbell.

Today at 4:30 pm we’ll deliver the last of 796 individual meals that our team has prepared for the film crew of a motion picture being filmed locally. For the last 12 days First We Eat has partnered with Dante’s Fire and Fresco Pizzeria to prepare and deliver two meals daily to feed the hungry staff. Our team developed a menu to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions and worked tirelessly to ensure that meals were on-site for their designated breaks.
