🌸We are open from 9:00am – 5:00pm today to close out the final day of the “Peony Season” at Sjuts Peony Gardens! 🌸We feel blessed to have had a great long weekend with all of our visitors!

The peonies are definitely nearing the end of their bloom. There are some blooms yet to be found out in the beds, although they are rather picked over after all of the awesome visitors we have had on top of the crazy weather this spring!

You are welcome to come out, enjoy a quiet stroll in nature, and hunt for some peony blooms to cut, even though the availability of fresh cut flowers is very limited. If you are willing to hunt a bit, you can find some decent flowers (and some just needing a bit more heat to finally bloom).

💐Although we do not have any blooms still waiting in the cooler for you, we do have homemade products available, including a good selection of our 🫙jellies, 🛁 bath products, and 🕯️peony-scented candles and wax melts. We also have soft serve ice cream and Pineapple Dole Whip to cool off as it gets warmer today.🍦

🌸Sunday 5/24/26 Peony Update:🌸
There are still some blooms in the garden, with some just waiting for a bit of sunshine and warm temperatures to keep blooming. 🤞🏼
💐Availability of fresh cut flowers (including those we have precut in the cooler) is rather limited due to the spring freezes, up and down temperatures, the winds we have had, and the awesome visitors we have had so far this weekend!

You are still welcome to come out and check the beds for some new blooms and enjoy walking around our little slice of nature, even though the total number of blooms is less than usual.

Happy Peony Friday!
After a much-needed inch of rain overnight, the peony beds are pretty muddy today. We will open from 4pm-8pm today (5/22/26) but be advised that the beds are wet and the blooms may need a bit of sunshine and warmth to pop open for you to fully enjoy them.

Due to the rain overnight and the odd weather this Spring, you will have to search a bit more for blooms to cut, but we do have some pre-cut flowers stored in the cooler to supplement your cuttings. We also have many homemade products available to purchase as well.

It is almost Peony Time!
We will be open for the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, May 22-25, 2026.
Friday 5/22- 4pm-8pm
Saturday 5/23 - 9am-7pm
Sunday 5/24 - 9am-7pm
Monday 5/25 - 9am-5pm

This year, we will be a bit short on blooms out in the peony beds due to the late spring frosts, early hot temperatures, and such inconsistent weather and temperatures lately. We will have some cut peony blooms in our cooler to supplement those you can come and cut, so we hope you can still visit us and enjoy our slice of nature this coming holiday weekend!

Peony blooms are $10 for a cut dozen (no admission fee).
This year, we do ask you to only cut open peony stems (no buds or those in the marshmallow stage) in order to have enough blooms for all to enjoy.

We will also have a selection of homemade products available for purchase, including peony bath and home products and homemade jellies and jams.

Peony Update:
The weather this year is presenting some challenges to our Peonies.
•We had a lot of blooms damaged by the late frosts, thus our total bloom count is about half of a typical year.
•We did make it through storms last night with a nice rain (1 inch!) and not too much wind. Fingers crossed for the next few days!
•The unseasonably warm temperatures have forced many of our early blooms open already.
•We have quite a few plants that are still a few days away from blooming.

Thus.....
We are going to open TODAY (5/17) from Noon-6:00pm!
•We welcome you to come and cut the blooms that are OPEN on our beds.
•It isn't too muddy to walk our front peony patches and enjoy the blooms that are available now. The moisture and some sunshine today will have some more popping open today!
•We also have all of our homemade products for you to enjoy, including some new flavors of jelly and even some peony-scented goat milk soap!

Please note: This year we will NOT be selling any peony buds or “marshmallows”. In order to keep blooms available for Memorial Day weekend, we will only be selling open flowers.

We are anxious to be able to share our beautiful scenery with you all! Sjuts Peony Gardens will be open to visitors for the Memorial Day weekend, May 22-25, 2026!
We know many of you are excited to come see the beautiful peony blooms. Although some of the buds were hit by late frosts, the warm temperatures are now bringing out some early blooms. We will keep you all posted on how the blooms are coming along and if we will be able to open any additional hours before the big Memorial Day weekend.
Stay tuned....it is ALMOST Peony Time!

That’s a total wrap on the 2025 Sjuts Peony Season!

💐We want to thank everyone who was able to visit our little bit of beauty this year! We love all of the visitors and are happy to be able to share our historic property with others who appreciate peonies and Nebraska nature. 💐

A very special thank you to Grace McDonald with Pure Nebraska for the special segment she created our highlight our gardens for others to learn about.

We are OPEN for our final day today!

We have had a great weekend of visitors and have some peony blooms still available out in the beds for you to find. Come on out and enjoy a quiet, cool stroll in the peonies (it Is a bit chilly and damp but not too muddy)
There are limited amounts of our homemade products still available as well.

Sunday Morning Update:
We are OPEN 9am-7pm today!

We did get a nice gentle rain overnight and it is a bit chilly today, but we do still have some good blooms in the garden for you to enjoy. We welcome you to have a walk through the flower beds as the cool weather is actually a better time to cut peonies to enjoy in your own homes!

3 Timber Studio is here today to add their creativity to a tree in our front gardens. We encourage you to come out to watch and see their process!

We do have a limited supply of our homemade and peony products still available. We also have a very limited amount of peonies pre-cut in our cooler.

Our final day to be open this year will be tomorrow, Monday 5/26 (9am-5pm) so we hope you can come enjoy the beauty of our gardens while the blooms are available.
