Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite local spots, family adventures, playgrounds, parks, hiking trails, ice cream stops, and fun ways to get outside and enjoy these beautiful summer days! 🌳🍦⚽🌞
First up: Your local school track and playing fields! It’s the best spot to be active and let the kids run around! We love it and spend HOURS in the evenings here ☀️

Our Intro to Sports & Fitness Fun course has been such a hit that we’re excited to offer another 6-week session in TUNKHANNOCK!

Join us every Tuesday from July 14th – August 18th for an action-packed evening of sports, fitness, teamwork, and FUN!

Another night in the books and these kids continue to impress us every week! 💪

This week we learned some new yoga moves including:
🌳 Tree Pose
🦋 Butterfly
🐶 Down Dog
🦭 Seal Pose
🐱🐄 Cat & Cow

We also had a blast playing:
🦈 Sharks in the Water
🧹 Clean Up the Backyard
🚦 Red Light, Green Light
🏃 Relay races through our obstacle course

In addition our older kids worked on:
🏀 Basketball skills & drills
🔥 Agility and plyometrics with hurdles, back pedaling, sprints, and speed work!

And our older class is CRUSHING their jump rope practice! 👏

WOW. I truly can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you’ve shown Backyard Adventures of NEPA. Every share, comment, booking, recommendation, review and kind word means more than you know. Watching this dream continue to grow has been so exciting, and I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of you ❤️

For those who are newer here — hi! I’m Jess 👋 I’m a mom of two, a wife, a basketball & softball coach, and the owner of Backyard Adventures of NEPA. I also have a pretty full house at home with our 3 dogs — W***y, Ernie & Hank 🐶🐶🐶 and our cat Lucy 🐱

Outside of Backyard Adventures, I love staying active — whether at the gym or spending time camping and making memories with my family 🏕️

Life is busy, chaotic, and sometimes a little crazy between family life, coaching, my kids activities and running a business, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I built Backyard Adventures around something I truly love: creating opportunities for kids to stay active, build confidence, have fun, and make memories.

Seeing kids smile, laugh, and leave saying they had “the BEST time ever!” is truly why I do this ❤️

WEEK 3 = another BIG win for our Backyard Adventures crew! 🎉💪

Our 2–5 year olds came ready to play and absolutely crushed it yesterday! We played Keepy Uppy, tackled Floor is Lava, worked on our tee ball hits and base running, and introduced rhythm sticks… and WOW 🎵🥁 our new little drummers DOMINATED WE WILL ROCK YOU!

Our 5–9 year olds brought the energy too! We worked through agility and plyometric training with mini hurdles, sprints, and back peddling. Practiced basketball dribbling drills, sharpened our baseball skills with grounders, throwing, tee work, and coach pitch. We continued our jump rope challenge — with a goal of hitting 10 jumps by the end of our 6-week course! 🏃‍♀️🏀⚾🔥

Parents — you should be SO proud. Watching these kids grow each week has been awesome. Their listening skills, effort, confidence, and ability to follow directions are improving so much already. It’s truly so much fun to watch and be a part of ❤️

Can’t wait for Week 4!
