It all began on Destiny Lane…
Allow me to explain: When I moved out of the dorms at Coastal Carolina after my freshman year of college, me and two of my girlfriends moved into a “veteran party house” in College Park on Destiny Lane. I hosted parties in the sake of each season, for every holiday, and basically used any excuse that seem like a good reason to invite all my friends over! It wasn’t un
til after I had graduated college where I was working as the marketing manager at Mellow Mushroom that one of my sorority sisters said, “Carter you know what would be the best job for you? Event planning! You always threw the best parties when you lived in college park.” And in that moment, I realized … OH MY GODDESS, You are so right! I wanted to leave my life in South Carolina and follow my wanderlust to California to join the tour with the Sustainable Living Roadshow. So, I thought to myself… great idea! I’ll just keep that card in my back pocket as my secret weapon. My time with SLR was just what my soul was desiring… a sense of adventure into the unknown, on a bus with true California hippies, teaching communities about sustainable living! I learned a lot about myself, how to leave no trace, and fell in love with my dream man! A year later I decided to plant my roots in Santa Cruz. Luckily, I moved to Santa Cruz at the beginning of wedding season and scored a job working at Kennolyn as their assistant wedding coordinator. This is where I learned the basics of how to run a wedding. Setting up a wedding for 150+ solo could be accomplished in two days no problem! After wedding season ended, I was fortunate enough that the stars aligned and I was offered a job at Pasatiempo Golf Club as a event coordinator! Working under the wing of my mentor Margy Seifert, she taught me how to master executing a perfect event. And from Destiny Lane to Honeysuckle Traditions, event planning & throwing awesome parties has always been my passion.
