This past weekend was a beautiful reminder of why we gather. 🧡💙
From Lotus Bloom with Abby and Marques, to Ritual Dance with Marques and Jordan, to the T’ANU ʔIŠƗMIʔ gathering on Saturday, and the Mountain Lotus Summer Speaker Series on Sunday, every moment reflected what Mountain Lotus strives to be—a place where people come together to connect, celebrate, learn, and grow.
Real change begins when we are willing to listen, stay curious, and engage with ideas and perspectives that challenge us to see the world differently. This weekend created space for meaningful conversations, powerful storytelling, music, movement, and shared experiences that remind us of what is possible when we gather with open hearts.
Thank you to Abby, Marques, Jordan, our incredible Summer Speaker Series speakers, the T’ANU ʔIŠƗMIʔ organizers, every artist, teacher, vendor, volunteer, and partner who shared your time, wisdom, and gifts with our community.
A special thank you to the Mountain Lotus team for your dedication, flexibility, and countless hours behind the scenes. None of this would have been possible without you.
And to everyone who joined us—whether you danced, practiced yoga, listened to a speaker, supported Indigenous artists, purchased a book benefiting the Washoe Warrior Society, or simply spent time in community—thank you. You are what makes Mountain Lotus so special.
To continue supporting this work, please consider donating to Washiw Zulshish Goom TahnNu, the Washoe Warrior Society, a grassroots nonprofit led by Wášiw community members and dedicated to restoring Wašiw land, culture, and sacred relationships in the heart of the Tahoe Basin. Their work includes advancing LandBack in Da Aw, Lake Tahoe, and supporting the creation of Wašiw TahnNu ’Angal, the Washoe Peoples House, a spiritual and cultural gathering space for ceremony, prayer, and cultural teachings.
