When I started in photography, I priced myself cheaper to get more experience. We all have to start somewhere! BUT, if the photography is THE most important to you on your wedding day, you might want to keep in mind that cheap photography could bring on the following: .
The photos are not exactly your style because the photographer is focused on their portfolio rather than your story (resulting in cell phone photos being more meaningful to you than the professionals). .
The quality of your photos, which is influenced by our gear, which is PRICEY (ONE of my lenses is $3000) and it’s why when you buy a professional camera from the store for $1200 the images don’t look exactly the same as your photographers (grainy, a little blurry, color is weird). .
You may lose some or ALL of your photos. When I was first starting out, my inexperience and lack of equipment lost me half of the images of a wedding. I had to call the bride crying and refund her all the money. Five years later, it happened again but I had the images backed up and a recovery system so know one was the wiser and no one was missing their photos.

You have five minutes left and your photogs camera battery dies. Now they have to waste that 5min running back to their car to grab a spare, missing the sunset glow. This happens on occasion to all professionals, but it may happen more with someone inexperienced, resulting in missing those photos!.
When family doesn’t get along or there is a wild card relative, photographers with experience know that we have to manage people’s emotions by prepping before the day and being mindful during. We learned the hard way when a girlfriend stomped out of family photos during a wedding, making it so awkward for the rest of the day. .
When the schedule is thrown out the window, whether because of a transportation issue or miscommunication with your DJ (no shade! We appreciate ya’ll!), someone with inexperience may be unaware or unprepared for those curve balls, resulting in missing photos OR you have to pay for them to stay longer to capture delayed events.

The person won’t command the group and space, leaving people confused and frustrated. You will now have to take over, which is overwhelming and keeps you from being present because now you’re managing people..
You’re stressed about certain shots being captured (Did you get that? What about this?). When you start managing for your photographer, you’ll start asking if they’re managing other tasks the way you want..
That stress shows in photos (aggressive eyes and brows). TRUST ME. It will show in the photos or you’ll at least remember that feeling when looking at the final photos.
