Great cooking isn’t just about following a recipe—it’s about paying attention to what’s happening in the pot!
👨🏾🍳 This Week’s Chef’s Cooking Tip: Taste As You Go!
One of the best habits any home cook or chef can develop is the ABT Rule – Always Be Tasting. As your dish cooks, flavors change and develop. By taking small tastes along the way, you can:
- Adjust seasonings before serving
- Balance salt, sweetness, and acidity
- Prevent bland or over-seasoned dishes
- Build confidence in your cooking
Remember: A small taste can make a BIG difference!
Whether you’re making a pot of collard greens, a hearty stew, homemade macaroni and cheese, or your favorite family recipe, don’t wait until the end to find out what it needs.
Today’s Challenge: Before serving dinner, take a taste and ask yourself: Does it need a little more seasoning, a touch of sweetness, or a splash of acidity?
What’s one dish you always taste multiple times while cooking? Tell us in the comments!
