Travel has been embedded in my soul since childhood. It was a priority with my mother, and we have made it a priority with our own children. While I do many types of travel planning, Family Travel really is the heart of my business! I specialize in Educational Travel. I enjoy creating itinerary plans that include lots of tours and excursions! As a homeschool mom, I truly believe that vacation = education, and the world is our classroom! I love history and culture, as well as nature. I work to create itineraries that are well balanced with lots of amazing destination activities, as well as enough time to rest and enjoy the area freely.

After COVID beat us up, I left travel in late 2021. I missed it dearly, however, I kept myself busy teaching Sedona and running the amazing field trip group. But she is done with me, and nothing compares to what I truly love to do... Travel Planning.

I am a seasoned Travel and Event Manager with decades of knowledge delivering seamless and unforgettable experiences for clients. Since 1999, through Stef’s Events, I focused on inspired creative management for both professional and volunteer projects. In recent years, I managed GASA, which was one of Tampa Bay’s largest homeschool groups - managing field trips, events, and travel, alongside designing exceptional vacation itineraries as a Family Travel Specialist. (family travel 2014-2021, corporate travel 2006-2009, and wedding/honeymoon travel since 1999.) I have personally traveled to 39 states, Hawaii included, and over 30 countries.

Like most homeschoolers, anyone who knows me knows my kids always come first. So when I worked, it was always part time, at home. (Except for 3 years that I worked full-time when the big kids were in middle/high schools.) There was always a lot of volunteer work too! * HOMESCHOOLING IN HIGH SCHOOL *
I just want to address a common misunderstanding I often see in Facebook groups.
People ask, "What is required to graduate your homeschooler from high school?"
The answer is always, "Homeschoolers in Florida have no specific class requirements."
TRUE. BUT....
Please remember that colleges DO have requirements. Even if you "think" your child doesn't want to attend college, it's still best to plan your high schooling with college requirements in mind.
Don't ask, "What is required for high school graduation?"
Instead ask, "What is required to enter and/or graduate from college?"
The worst thing you can do is NOT prepare your child for success. If you don't give your child what they need now in high school, they will end up wasting time later doing remedial classes before they can start their college classes.
So, look at local colleges or the college or university they want to attend. Plan their high school transcript with these requirements in mind, and work backwards from there. Fill in their grades with each class they complete, and by the time they're done, they will have all the class credits needed to enter college - even if that is years later.
Your homeschooler will thank you for setting them up for success!
Remember, you quite literally hold their future in your hands!

*NOTE: It's not only colleges that might ask for your high school transcripts, but some jobs, tradeschools, military, etc. might also too. You are making lifelong choices for them today!
