We proudly operate out of Crain Hill Vineyard located in Elmwood Township near Traverse City. Our tasting room and event space sit atop a gentle slope that looks East towards Traverse City and Old Mission Peninsula across the bay. Between our three vineyards we have around 60 acres and 15 varieties of vines that produce high quality cool climate wines! Focusing mainly on vinifera varieties you may

find some familiar wines such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. You may also discover your new favorite, lesser-known wine such as a Gemischter satz, Leelanau Blanc de Blanc or a Viognier. The aim is to produce high quality wines that express the terroir in the soil, sun, and winds of these unique sites. This weekend at the winery:

Friday: Cold Bar Social available today in the tasting room until 5 PM, and the Cafe Exalt menu is available until 4 PM. The tasting room will close today at 5 PM for our sold-out Truth in Taste Harvest Celebration Dinner!

Saturday: Cold Bar Social and Cafe Exalt menus available noon to 9 PM, with Cafe Exalt closing briefly from 3 to 5 PM. The tasting room will be open all day!

Join us today for Cold Bar Socials, available until 9 pm! Oysters on the half shell, beef carpaccio, ahi tuna ceviche, and salmon poke, served fresh with a glass of your favorite Brengman wine.

The Cafe Exalt menu will be limited today to pizzas, charcuterie, ahi tuna, and hummus, and the kitchen will be closing early at 7 pm.

Saturday the tasting room will be open for wine and cocktails only from noon to 3 pm, and then we'll be closed for a wedding as our very own Operations Manager Evan Burton ties the knot!

Our Story

Brengman Brothers owns and operates Crain Hill Vineyards, located in Elmwood Township near Traverse City, Michigan. The vineyard consists of 45 acres with approximately 20 acres in grape production. The main focus is vinifera grape varieties, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The aim is to produce high quality wines that express the terroir of the soil, the sun, and the wind of the site. We’re committed to bringing our passion and history for the love of growing and pleasing people to our winery and vineyard experience.
