Starting seeds can be the most exciting part of growing a garden, especially after that false-spring last weekend compared to nearly zero low temps headed into next weekend. ❄️

This is our current system- it isn't perfect & it certainly isn't pretty (yet). Our focus this year is to work toward building better infrastructure for our gardens. 🌱

While we dibble away, should we dibble a tad extra to sell a few plants at Traer Farmers' Market? If so- what excites YOU- flowering plants, herbs or veggies...or ALL OF THEM like us?!

It has certainly been awhile, yikes! I get it- it's wrong, the algorithm isn't going to like it, but everything we've been up to feels so right 🀎

Last autumn, we ended our 2025 season by cutting every last fresh flower stem to combine with our own dried florals for the wedding celebration of our dear friends in northeastern Iowa.

We've spent the winter enjoying our harvest, resting & realizing our goals. As we warm up to spring, we're excited for another opportunity to grow local, sustainable, in-season florals & produce for our community & to see some familiar faces again. We're back!

Reflecting on International Woman's Day, our family recognizes the feats & achievements of all woman: those heard & unheard, remembered & unnoticed. Celebrating love with a picture of a little moment of joy, after closing the garden down last autumn. Cheers 🫢

Wowza! Thank you Traer Farmers' Market customers who brought so much support today, especially those regular customers all season long 🫢

Thats a wrap!...maybe 🫣

I had so much fun putting together pumpkin centerpieces & they were so popular today, we'd consider selling a few more!

Includes homegrown Hot Chocolate pumpkin (limited orange available) that has been hollowed out to include a mason jar & floral arrangement for $20 (in-town pickup) or $25 (delivery). Who would be interested? πŸŽƒ

Meet the Farm Monday! 🐾

Meet Loretta, or more affectionately called Littles. Brought to the Farm 3 years ago tomorrow (!) Littles is a scamper & always a kitten at heart. Romas bestie, you can find these two snuggling just as often as you can find them romping around & pouncing each other in the tall grass.

Big love for Littles. πŸ’–

Meet the Farm Monday! 🐾

Meet Hank: born on the farm in 2021 Hank is a barncat of many names, Colters nephew & the biggest of snugglebugs. Hank simply wants the upmost comfort in life. It's a bit too ridiculous to admit how hard it was to slim down photo after photo of paws straight out & face stuffed in fluffy blankies- he's just too darn cute.

If there's any cat dashing through the door to sneak a snooze on the "good" chair- it's Hank. When not experiencing ultimate relaxation Hank is our biggest adventurer, by far. We love this hunk & he loves us too...probably because we provide so many snuggle spots.🫢

We had a very special weekend. We hope you did, too 🀎
