A moody fall day calls for a moody fall arrangement..

It’s been an extremely busy couple months and slowing down to make something “just because” for no one or no event in particular is exactly what I needed.. the creative payoff to fuel my spirit for the tasks ahead..

The flowers may be winding down with a true frost in the forecast but there is so much work still ahead to prepare for spring..

Fall mood..

Excited to take my first cuts of Symphoricarpos (snow berry) that I purchased from Farmer Bailey as bare roots two years ago! Some things are worth the wait ☺️

Enjoying every bouquet as there are already threats of frost next week! Boy oh boy this season flew by 🪽

The wildest part of growing cut flowers is always being multiple seasons ahead mentally. I have a hard time remembering what day it is but I’m constantly a year ahead~in my head. As a crop is blooming you are already thinking about next year. How to do it better, what to change, what to add, place next years order before it’s too late..

They say April showers bring May flowers but that’s not entirely true.. September and October plantings are what bring May flowers. The work isn’t winding down over here. It’s ramping back up. And I’m already dreaming of Spring..

And on that note.. I WILL be selling specialty spring bulbs again this year! As soon as they finish coming in from Holland my supplier checks all the bulbs for optimal health then I will have my confirmation of bulbs available for purchase this October at the Ellington Farmers Market market or farm pickup. And trust me, they are special. Hard to get varieties in the largest bulb size and finest quality. These aren’t your typical big box store bulbs. As soon as I have my shipment date I will make a formal announcement 📣 🌷 so keep your 👀 out! 💞

Emily was truly a planner extraordinaire! She trusted me to grow flowers especially for their day in a soft, romantic palette that I absolutely adore. Being given so much trust with flowers that carry such meaning will never stop feeling like an honor.
