5 Things Every Bride Wishes She Knew Before Wedding Dress Shopping

1. You don't have to know your dress style before you walk in. Your bridal consultant can learn a lot from what you love and what you hate once you start trying things on.

2. A dress can be beautiful on the hanger and completely different on your body. Don't judge a gown until you've actually put it on.

3. Your appointment isn't just about finding “the one.” Your consultant is also watching how you move, what makes you feel comfortable, what you're naturally drawn to and which details keep catching your eye.

4. You may fall in love with a detail you didn't think you wanted. Sleeves, sparkle, lace, straps, buttons, a dramatic train—you won't always know what matters to you until you see it on.

5. Your reaction matters more than everyone else's. Your mom, friends and bridesmaids may have opinions, but they're not the ones wearing it. The dress should make you feel like a bride.
