LMH to Host Tent City 2025 at 424 Jackson Street
In Collaboration with 1Matters.org, Celebrating Over 30 Years of Advocacy, Service, and Compassion.
Toledo, OH — October 2025: Lucas Metropolitan Housing (LMH), in collaboration with 1Matters.org, is proud to announce that it will host Tent City 2025, a cornerstone event in the Toledo community that has provided advocacy, services, and compassion for individuals experiencing homelessness for more than 30 years.
This year’s Tent City will be held at LMH’s property at 424 Jackson Street in downtown Toledo, beginning Friday, October 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. and concluding on Sunday morning. By serving as the host site, LMH reaffirms its mission to not only provide safe and sustainable housing but also to stand as a leader in community service, equity, and care.
“Tent City reflects the very essence of who we are as an organization,” said Senghor Manns, President & CEO of LMH. “At LMH, we believe our responsibility goes beyond bricks and mortar. It’s about people, ensuring every individual knows they matter. Hosting Tent City 2025 alongside 1Matters.org is an extension of that commitment.”
Highlights of Tent City 2025
New Host Location: 424 Jackson Street, provided by LMH.
Collaboration with 1Matters.org: Bringing expanded services, advocacy, and community engagement to this year’s event.
Community Support: Partner organizations will provide meals throughout the weekend, helping ensure every guest is cared for.
Volunteer Opportunities: With meal support covered, the largest need for volunteers will be in the clothing tent and registration.
Volunteers have always been the heart of Tent City. While groups are welcome, LMH and 1Matters.org encourage individuals to register separately to ensure smooth scheduling. Group leaders may contact organizers directly to coordinate larger participation efforts.
For more than three decades, Tent City has served as a beacon of hope for Toledoans experiencing homelessness and poverty. With LMH’s leadership and 1Matters.org’s advocacy, this year’s event will continue to honor that tradition while expanding its reach and impact.
