The Craft House History
The Craft House is deifnitely unique. We reside in one of the former summer home mansions of President James Buchanan. The restaurant utilizes two floors of the 200 year old mansion, along with outdoor seating, and the ability to host multiple events simultaneously ! We have 5 dining rooms, 2 bars, outdoor dining, a family-friendy retro game room, and 2 pool parlors!
The Craft House is the creation of a husband and wife team who have been long time restauranteurs in Chester County with history dating back to 1970! With The Craft House, it was essential to preserve as much as possible of the remaining decor of the Presidential estate. Much of the trim work was restored, roof replaced, floors repaired, and a fresh coat of paint inside and out! The Craft House opened for business January, 2015.
The Craft House is situated next to Ingleside Golf Course, a long-time favorite golf course of many Chester County residents, in the heart of Thorndale, Pennsylvania. The Craft House isn’t everthing for everyone, but we’re certain there’s something to be enjoyed by most, from our scratch kitchen which utilizes our own grown produce and herbs, to our 28 draught beers, 100+ bottled beers, full liquor selection, and weekly live music!
Our team of seasoned professionals have one simple mission, to create smiles! From the moment you enter, till the moment you leave, it is our goal to put a smile on your face! If you aren’t smiling when you leave, we haven’t done our job!
