Today is the beginning of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️💛going through thousands of photos of our kiddos this one stood out to me this morning .
Sophie was a three time cancer warrior. Though she lost her battle to a “rare” childhood cancer, she won the hearts of thousands of people that followed her story and brought an immense amount of awareness to childhood cancer .
Sophie loved Katarina and Kat adored her. They competed in horse shows together and earned many first place awards including a National title at the Welsh Pony Nationals . She loved all things that sparkled and the color pink but most of all she loved her family. Cancer and children should not be in the same sentence, our children are worth more than the small about of funding and research that is being done, they deserve more.
Though our program is not a medical research project it
is a place where kids can be kids, away from medical necessities, parents can take a breath and our horses and ponies do their best to bring smiles, confidence and joy during a difficult time.
Make a difference this month, donate to research, drop of a gift card to a family battling, support a program that serves this ever increasing population of families .
We think of Sophie often, her running down the barn alley with her pink boots to see Katarina and her joyful spirit .
We can and will make a difference together 🎗️💛
