Sweet Potato Pie 🍠 & Almond Vanilla Pound Cake (not pictured) for a Client pickup today! Y’all know Chef is real PARTICULAR & a**l about his Work.

These are not those Patti Labelle Pies (no harm or foul to Patti, but those are a disgrace to the Culture). Don’t bring no Light Skin Pies around us lol. Our Sweet Potato Pies need to be as dark as Chef himself 😎. Those Bad Boys need to have some Melanin in em’, and that Crust has to be nice and Brown. That let’s us know off top by just looking at em’ that they’re Flavored Perfectly. We also like our Sweet Potato Pie Custard to be smooth. We don’t like a clumpy Pie. That says you didn’t whip your Custard good/long enough, nor did you put enough Milk, or Eggs in it. Y’all know the OG Grandma Evelyn Jean taught us the game, and we ran with it.

We have a CRAZY busy Week ahead of us. So today is all about resting 😌. Huge Wedding Ceremony on Friday, and turn around and doing a Baby Shower on Saturday! Super blessed and honored to be 🙏🏾.

Grubbin On Cloud9 provided Lunch today for the Staff at Mighty Oaks Foundation. One of Chef’s awesome Classmate’s Mother Mrs. Sherri asked us if we could take care of about 40 Employees. Of course we can. And Thank You so much for the Tip, Sweet Lady! I feel the Love. Everyone was so nice, and so excited when we took the Tops off the Food.

Goodevening 👋🏾, to all of you Sweet Tooth Lovers 😊! So, a lot of you saw from the Post the other day that we offer Private Chef Services right from the comfort of your Home, and most of you know that we offer Corporate Caterings, Weddings, Parties, Celebrations, etc. as well.

But, I’d like to show alot of you who are new here my Pastry Side as well! Chef De’Andrae is a Self Taught Pastry Chef. Everything that I do is from Scratch. Literally, everything. On the Cakes, I do Buttercream Icing (American, Swiss Meringue, Italian, etc.) only. NO FONDANT! All of our Cakes are super moist, dense, with a Flavor Profile of their own.

Our Cheesecakes are really next Level, also! I’ve been deemed (by my Clients) to have “10x better Cheesecakes than the Cheesecake Factory.” Each Cheesecake has its very own unique Flavor, also. The Crusts are hand pressed, and Water Bath Baked for a perfect, creamy consistency. I’ve turned the “I don’t like Cheesecake” people into Believers 🤣. Private Chef’ing for the Birthday Girl Mrs. Melanie & the entire Family last night was a HUGE SUCCESS ✅. The theme was “Flamingos 🦩”. These awesome People were a Vibe. So nice, Welcoming, and just Fun! They absolutely loved the Food! They said “The Best That They’ve Had!” They were so blown away by the whole Experience! The Host (Mrs. Donna - which is the Birthday Girls Older Sister) was so cool! So Welcoming, and made Chef feel like Family! I sat out on the Deck with them on the Lake, and we just relaxed & vibed, and had a Blast all night. Had to honestly had to force myself to leave 😩.

5-Layer / 2-Tier Cake done by yours truly 🙋🏾‍♂️! Celebrating all of the Queens 👸🏾 in my “Easley Family” today! The theme was “Tea Party”. I really appreciate when you all say “Do the design how you’d like because I know it’s gonna come out amazing!” Thank You, Aunt Kim for choosing Grubbin On Cloud9 to do this Cake that represents all of the amazing Women in our Family.

The Flavor of this Cake is outta this World. Not only does it look good, but it tastes even better. The Batter Flavor is Chef De’Andrae’s very own Roasted Buttered Pecan, and the Icing is Swiss Meringue Vanilla Bean Almond Buttercream. The Colors hold significance, also. The Pastel Purple on the Bottom represents Royalty, and Classiness. The 2nd Tier on top with the Vintage Design represents the Older Women (my Grandma, and all of her Sisters) in the Family. And since all the Women are in my Family are Beautiful Queens to me, I had to top it off with a Gold Crown with Pearls. Pure Elegance! Potato Lovers, here we have our 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝑩𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐 🥔. XXL Russet Potato Baked to Perfection. We’re not popping it open, and just putting Butter, Chives, Salt & Pepper. These are stuffed with Grubbin On Cloud9’s very own Dirty Mashed Potatoes (if you’ve had em’, you already know what time it is), then we top it off with even more Juicy/Seasoned Ribeye Steak, Smoky Mesquite Chicken, Garlic Sausage, & Colossal Jumbo Shrimp! Those Shrimp are huge. Look how big they are sitting on a already big Potato. This thing is so stuffed, you can’t even see all of the Meats under there 😩. You’d better be starving to think you will eat 1 of these entirely in 1 setting.

Today, as we Celebrate Mother’s Day, I’d like to say a Mothers Day to all of you wonderful Ladies out there, and a HUGE Happy Mother’s Day to my Beautiful Mother, Mrs. Tani J.! She plays a huge part of Grubbin On Cloud9. Not only is she a Member of the GOC-9 Team, but her Teachings that she passed onto me, as well as showing me to not be afraid to push the Envelope when it comes to Taste & Flavor of Food is a huge part of our Success. I can remember as a Child, sitting in the Kitchen with my Mother, and watching her create. Years and years of watching her, and learning gave me the Blueprint. If you’ve ever Booked us, or met her at any Pop-up that we’ve did, you’ll know she’s Super friendly, and will go out of her way to make sure that you’re pleased, feel at Home, and that’s what draws so many to her. Her great & contagious Energy. She also instilled in me many life teachings, and Unconditional Love that molded me to be the Successful Man that I am today.

Yesterday was “the ReRun”, and it was a complete success.

This morning, we’re doing a Taste Testing with some Clients from Minnesota, who were looking for a Chef & Caterer who offers real Soulfood & Cajun Food with a twist, and someone referred them to Grubbin On Cloud9.

You’re probably saying “Taste Testing? All of that Food?” Yes, we are very heavy-handed on Portions. We don’t know how to fix just a small amount of Food 🤷🏾‍♂️. We just believe in giving People their Moneys worth, and then some. And we want them to really TASTE it, and savor it. They chose 4 items off of their Full requested Menu for their Event Day to taste..

Our girl Deandrea came ALL the way from San Antonio yesterday just for Grubbin On Cloud9. If THAT isn’t Love ❤️, then we don’t what is! This is her 2nd time coming, and we have to always send her back with Double the amount of Food (for free) that she paid for because we are truly honored that she would get on I-10, and make that drive from the Alamo City just for me! We love you, Lady, and we appreciate you so much. Her good Energy is contagious, too. Always laughing, always cracking you up. We have the BEST Clients a Chef could ever Dream of. Yesterday’s 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑩𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 was such a Vibe, Man! These Clients came all the way down from Indianapolis, Indiana ✈️ to Houston to celebrate their Sisters Birthday! Their Cousin is the Famous Content Creator Ree Aurelia Quarels, who asked our girl Cookie 🍪 if she knew a Chef who would take care of them for a Surprise Brunch! Cookie asked us would we take care of them? Of course. Not only did we do the Food, but I (Chef) took care of the Visuals/Aesthetics also! This was a super Sentimental Trip for them, also! They just lost their Brother a few Months ago whom they were all very close too. This was their 1st Trip together as a Family as Siblings, and he was Supposed to be with them. I knew this from speaking with the other Sister who was surprising her. What they didn’t know is that I was going to present them with a Photo of him in a Angel Wing Picture Frame 🖼️😇 to signify that he was there with them in Spirit 🕊️! There wasn’t a dry eye in the Room. And just my way of going the extra Mile to show my Appreciation for Booking with us! They were so pleased with everything, that they immediately tipped us right on the Spot. We stayed, and Partied with them. It was such a Vibe. You had to have been there.
