Jamile’s voice carries the warmth of her roots in southern Brazil and the edge of her years on New York’s jazz stages. She moves easily between Brazilian rhythms, modern jazz, and her own original work, creating a set that feels alive in every moment.

She’s performed at Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and she has a new project on the way.

Dal and naan have been sharing the Indian table for centuries, from ancient kitchens to the Mughal courts. Our version simmers black lentils and kidney beans for hours in a creamy tomato and fenugreek sauce, then pairs them with naan pulled straight from a traditional tandoor.

Brasuka | August 15 | 7:00

Brasuka blends Brazilian rhythm with global influence that mixes samba, jazz, candombe, folk, and reggae into its own unique sound.

The Dallas-based group writes everything together, pulling from their roots in Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Their songs are sung in both English and Portuguese, layered with percussion and filled with stories you can move to.

They’ll be performing music from A Vida Com Paixão, a debut album built on years of collaboration and shared joy.

Jack Courtright Big Band | September 5 | 7:00

The Jack Courtright Big Band brings together some of the top jazz musicians in North Texas. The sound is full, focused, and made for a live room.

Jack is a nationally recognized trombonist and composer, with top honors from the JJ Johnson and Carl Fontana competitions. He also leads the jazz program at East Texas A&M and performs regularly across the country.

On September 5, his group takes the stage at Windmills for a night of original charts, tight grooves, and strong ensemble playing.

Nick Finzer Quartet | August 29 | 7:00

Nick Finzer brings both history and forward motion to the stage. A DownBeat “Rising Star” and Grammy-nominated trombonist, Finzer has released seven acclaimed albums and performed at venues like Carnegie Hall, the Blue Note, and the Sydney Opera House.

His work is shaped by early influences like Duke Ellington, years of study at Eastman and Juilliard, and a deep connection to the music of J.J. Johnson.

On August 29, he leads his quartet through a concert that honors the legacy of J.J Johnson. Join us for an evening of clarity, swing, and modern jazz. Dinner and drinks will be served throughout the show.
