1999: Renowned street-dance icons Kwikstep and Rokafella, alongside their Full Circle Souljahs crew, shared a two-night program at the Hostos Center with French hip-hop company Compagnie Käfig. This collaboration’s performance, described as “riveting...steeped in pop culture and social-protest ingenuity” by the The New York Times (Anna Kisselgoff), opened up a special chapter in street-dance storytelling that has lasted over 25 years.

2025 & Now: Today, Full Circle Souljahs continues to bring this legacy to our stage through their “25 and Still Getting Live” productions, most recently presented in November 2025 at Hostos Center. The program celebrates FCS’ indelible impact as a Bronx-based crew that empowers dancers to hone their craft and use their skills as a way to “reflect on the struggle, communicate resilience, and connect with their deep cultural lineage here in the Bronx” (Full Circle Souljahs).

At Hostos Center, the core of our mission has always been to create a home for the arts in the Bronx and ensure that our community can see its culture honored on stage. As we celebrate Hip Hop’s 53rd anniversary this August 11, we’re proud to reaffirm our commitment to uplifting our borough and the creative richness of its diverse communities.

Stay connected - Full Circle Souljahs will be back at Hostos Center next spring! 🌟

As our city celebrates the Dominican Day Parade 🇩🇴 this weekend, we’d like to thank the Dominican community for its longstanding support of our Center. Sergio Vargas brought a memorable performance to our theaters’ inauguration in 1994, and in that same spirit, numerous Dominican artists, audiences, and community members have joined us in making the Center a welcoming home for the arts, culture, and Latinidad in the South Bronx. Your contributions have left an enduring mark on our legacy.

Today, we remember Richie Bonilla (1937–2026), a dear friend of the Hostos Center and a beloved champion of Latin music.

Richie spent more than six decades opening doors for artists, sharing our music with the world, and lifting up generations of talent. To us, he was more than a collaborator — he was family, and his kindness, generosity, and passion will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Richie, for everything you gave to our artists, our community, and our culture.
