Shell Shocked Catering & Events,LLC Shell Shocked Catering & Events, LLC is a Texarkana-based company owned by Chef A.Prater. She also leads the LE Culinary Arts program.

Serving the community since 2015, we specialize in full-service catering, private dinners, galas, and community events. After competing in Sunset COGIC dessert wars hosted by Evangelist Tiffany Kennedy in December 2013 and receiving the best presentation trophy I started to venture out into the small business world and showcase my creativity in the kitchen. In January 2014 I established Alicia’s C

reative Designs and Good Eats. In December 2014 I filed for my employee identification number. My small local business started off providing fresh baked desserts and specialty cakes as well as creative hand sewn projects. In the spring of 2015 with support and guidance from Sister Bugs Network founder/director Shan Parks it was time for me to transition. My small business was renamed Shell Shocked Catering & Events and filed for its assumed name certificate with Bowie County on December 7, 2015.

✨ From the Desk of Chef Shell ✨

The school year has officially come to a close, and what a season it has been.

Over the last few weeks, I've balanced final exams, college grades, graduation activities, catering events, community service, preparing for summer bookings, and celebrating Major's 3rd birthday. There have been long days, late nights, and more Coca-Cola than I probably should admit.

As I reflect on this year, I'm grateful.

Grateful for my students who continue to grow and push themselves. Grateful for my clients who trust Shell Shocked Catering & Events with their special moments. Grateful for my family, friends, staff, and village who step in whenever the load gets heavy.

Being named Teacher of the Year was an honor I'll never forget, but the greatest reward is seeing students succeed, businesses grow, and dreams come to life through hard work and faith.

Summer is already off to a busy start, and I'm excited for what's ahead. New events, new opportunities, and new memories are waiting to be made.

The first picture was taken before church.

The second picture was taken after church.

Same outfit. Same woman. But a renewed spirit and a fresh reminder that God is not finished with me yet.

Today’s message confirmed what has been unfolding in my life: every gift God has given me is connected to a greater purpose—teaching, serving, creating opportunities, and helping others see possibilities they may not have recognized on their own.

Whether I’m mentoring students, catering an event, coaching a parent, organizing finances, or building my business, the common thread is leadership and service.

Everything I do is rooted in faith, fueled by purpose, and driven by my love for God, my family, and the desire to create opportunities for others.

Success is not just about making money. It is about making an impact, building a legacy, and using my gifts to serve.

And one thing I know for sure: God is not finished with me yet. 🙏🏽✨
