*post-op update*
All went well with surgery and I’m slowly getting back to my *new* normal. They found a tear in my labrum and put 4 anchors in to put my shoulder back where it should be. I’ll be in this immobilizer for 6 weeks 😢
Physically, I’m doing as well as can be expected. I can’t fully extend my arm right but pain in my shoulder is fairly limited. Only being able to utilize one arm is definitely annoying - I can’t even use my left to support me opening cans or anything right now.
Mentally this has been draining. As of right now, my independence is pretty limited. I can’t drive, can’t shower without help, can’t do my hair, etc… it’s definitely taken a toll on my mental health with having to rely on everyone around me.
I’ll hopefully be released to drive this week and I start PT towards the end of the week. Here’s hoping the strength comes back.
I am back to editing when I can and working on building some big, exciting things for when I’m back. (Including new senior packages!)
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers during this recovery period :)
