Join us at the 4th of July celebration in the park 🇺🇸, where tickets are available for purchase for the following raffle items at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

RAFFLE #1: This Patriotic Wreath, crafted by Serena Wotring, comes with local gift cards and scratch-off tickets worth over $100.

RAFFLE #2: We are raffling a Four Burner Gas Grill by Even Embers, generously donated by Tractor Supply in Kingwood. The prize package also includes Garrett 8 movie tickets, a 20oz Yeti tumbler, a Large Pizza gift card from Pizza Hut, a $50 Walmart gift card, grill seasonings, gourmet baskets, and baked items valued at $500.

The Preston County Historical Society is asking for volunteers June 28 @ 10am to help clean the town for the 4th of July festivities.

Members of the Terra Alta Together Community Cemeteries ( TATCC) partnered with TA/EP School to hold a penny boot drive to help sponsor wreaths for local veterans in 15 small cemeteries in the Terra Alta area. Even though Terra Alta is a smaller community in Preston County, there are approximately 200 graves within the 15 small cemeteries that need wreaths. Students brought in extra change with a total of $526.00 collected. This amount helped sponsor 30 plus an additional 15 wreaths for Veteran graves. Ms. Rhodes 2nd grade class brought in the most change and was rewarded today with a movie, popcorn, and hot cocoa.

Wreaths Across America's mission is to Remember, Honor, Teach. Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Wreaths Across America has education materials on their website for every grade, along with the lesson plans and materials that teachers can incorporate into classrooms to encourage students to Remember and Honor heroes within the community.
