Built in 1888 in what is now the heart of downtown Tempe, the historic Hackett House is headquarters for the Tempe Sister Cities organization and home to events and programs that serve the children of Tempe and the community at large. All funds raised through Hackett House go to support City of Tempe programs, including the award-winning Tempe Sister Cities organization, which sponsors student, te

acher, professional and similar exchanges with Tempe’s International Sister Cities. Whether you attend a class or event, shop in our gift shop, or rent our facility for your party or reception, the Hackett House’s old-world charm is sure to please.

At the Hackett House, we’re proud to continue a tradition that started back in 1888 when this historic home served as Tempe’s first bakery!

Happy Mother’s Day from the Hackett House 💐

Last Sunday’s our Mother’s Day Tea was filled with beautiful flowers, delicious treats, laughter, and cherished memories shared around the table.

One of the sweetest moments was welcoming back a family who has been attending tea at the Hackett House for years. What began with Heidi’s grandmother bringing her to tea when she was young has now grown into a beautiful family tradition carried on by her aunt and cousins. Seeing generations gather together at the Hackett House is exactly what makes these teas so special. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends who make life sweeter.

We hope your Mother’s Day was filled with love, connection, and a little time to slow down and enjoy each other.

Re:Cycle Art Night 2026 is almost here! 🛠️🎨

Looking for a night of local art, live music, and community spirit? Come out to the Hackett House on March 6th to support Bike Saviours, Tempe’s only nonprofit bicycle collective!

We’re featuring original work from over 50 local artists using salvaged and recycled bicycle parts. Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind metal sculpture, handmade jewelry, or a recycled bike for silent auction, we’ve got it all.

What’s happening:
✅ Shop Local: 100% of art proceeds benefit our shop and community art programs.
✅ Live Entertainment: Music by The Derailleurs, DJ Bicycle Jesus, and Joe Giancinto + live painting!
✅ Interactive Fun: Help us decorate bikes for the silent auction or explore the Hall of (Bike Art) Mirrors.
✅ Treats & Drinks: Full bar and soft drinks available (benefitting Hackett House/Tempe Sister Cities).
✅ Bike Valet: Ride your bike over and let Tempe Bicycle Action Group park it for you!
