Kathleen’s experience in events began with the Telluride Jazz Celebration and has since led her to work

with the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and as Special Events and Marketing for the Ah Haa School for the Arts. Kathleen started working as a wedding coordinator 3 years ago. Her exceptional wealth of knowledge of the Telluride community and experience in the event industry helps each client bring their dreams to reality. This week brought some unexpected twists for me and my clients. Just two weeks out from their wedding, we faced a major decision and had to pivot quickly. Together, we navigated it successfully—and I was reminded that challenges are part of every planner’s journey (and really, most professions).

What makes it all worthwhile is having clients who trust me, and trusting myself to find the best path forward. I truly felt the universe had my back, and I’m so grateful for the supportive community in this region that helped make the transition seamless.

I also want to take a moment and recognize all my fellow planners and wedding industry friends—these flowers are for you. May the rest of your season be filled with joy and positivity, because that’s what this work is really about: bringing meaningful days to life.

A glimpse into the magic of Morgan and Paul’s wedding day 💓 I shared with them that the speeches by their Maid of Honor and Best Man (major shoutout to Angie and Paul!) were among the most touching we’ve ever witnessed — the perfect blend of heartfelt emotion and hilarious memories. (Shout out to Angie + the other Paul!) Truly unforgettable.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the celebration turned into an epic dance party at — every single one of the 54 guests hit the dance floor and didn’t leave all night! Stay tuned for those fun photos!

As we reach the height of summer, I’ve been reflecting on what this season has brought me. Living in a new place, while grieving and celebrating the life of a dear friend, has grounded me in two intentions: creating space for meaningful moments with loved ones—both old and new—and embracing a quieter, slower pace of life.

This summer, I’ve found joy in simple rituals: feeding the hummingbirds, tending to our garden, and soaking in the stillness. Though summer tends to be my busiest time, especially with work, I’ve been intentional about carving out peaceful mornings—walking through the forest before wedding days and on my days off. These moments have become sacred to me.

I feel most at peace among the trees, wildflowers, birds, and the occasional wildlife. Nature softens me—it fills my cup in ways nothing else quite can. I’m so grateful for the gift of this season.

Here’s to summer. I hope you’re soaking up the things you love most. ☀️
