This one might be a tear-jerker. I waited for my friend and last client Kelsey to give me the go-ahead before sharing — thank you, , for allowing me to.
Here goes…
I feel so blessed to meet truly remarkable people through my work. One of my greatest joys is when I form a genuine connection with a family member of a couple I’v worked with. Theresa Wiltrout was exactly that.
I first met Theresa the week of her daughter’s wedding in September 2023. She was gracious, thoughtful, and absolutely overflowing with joy that her daughter was marrying the love of her life. She radiated happiness, and I felt an instant connection with her. Theresa was many things — but one of her most beautiful gifts was her art. She created stunning stained glass pieces, and she gifted every wedding guest a hand-crafted stained glass Aspen leaf. I was deeply touched.
Theresa and I stayed in touch after the wedding. She made a beautiful watermelon colored trout that I gave to my husband. When I told her that I loved anything “watermelon” — she tucked in a little watermelon slice just for me. All of these pieces are now in our family room, and I look at them often. Every time I do, I see her smiling face.
Theresa, you were such a shining star, even in the brief and beautiful moment that I got to know you.
Today I’m sending so much love to Kelsey and her entire family — this is their first Mother’s Day without her here with us in the physical. But I know with all of my heart that she is absolutely with us in the spiritual. 🤍
P.S. This first photo of her up in the chair during the dance party pulls at my heart strings so much! I absolutely love it!!! This is how I remember her ✨
