🖍️ During our open play sessions this week help us decorate a banner to present to them as a special thank you from all of us!

🛒 From Play to the Lunchbox 🍎🥪

At Little Play Place, every corner of our studio is designed with intention — even our Little City Market. With insight from our Play Panel™ we create setups that spark conversation, connection, and real-life learning through play.

Today’s setup? Back-to-school snack shopping! 📚✨

We stocked the shelves with school-approved snacks pouches, chips, goldfish, granola bars, lunch boxes and fruit— to invite little shoppers to role play picking healthy options for their lunchbox.

Why this matters:
💬 Language Growth – Talking through choices builds vocabulary (“sweet,” “crunchy,” “healthy,” “favorite”).
🧠 Social Skills – Taking turns as “shopper” and “cashier” teaches cooperation and conversation.
👐 Real-World Practice – Familiar items bridge play to real life, so kids feel confident when they help shop for the real thing.

It looks like “just play,” but it’s also preparation for independence, healthy habits, and a confident start to the school year. ✏️

🌟 Farewell Friday for Ms. Karla! 🌟

This Friday will be Karla’s last official day at Little Play Place, and we’d love your help sending her off with all the love she deserves! 💛

Karla has been such a special part of our LPP family—welcoming your littles with warmth, leading play with patience and joy, and bringing big heart to everything she’s done. We’ll miss her dearly but are so excited for what’s next in her journey. 💫

📅 Stop by this Friday to give her a hug, a high five, or a handmade card from your little one!

Let’s fill her last day with sweet memories, kind words, and maybe a few happy tears. 🥹💐

Attend a live children’s theatre experience at the library. Join us for 𝘛𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘭𝘦, 𝘛𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳, an interactive play that reminds us that mistakes happen, but no problem is too big if you ask for help.

Presented by Creative Arts Theatre Company, the City of Tampa’s professional theatre company for young audiences (recommended for ages 2 to 6).

Monday, April 24, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Jimmie B Keel Regional Library.
