When we first moved to Georgia, we prayed that each of our children would find at least one good friend in their new classes.
Kerry and Daniel's son was the answer to that prayer.
During parent-teacher conferences a little over 3 years ago, we finally got to meet their entire family.
We talked and laughed in that elementary school hallway and I knew that they would become sweet and dear friends.
The Lord did what only He can do, using any situation (even a move to a new state) to bring about pivotal relationships.
We were so grateful.
A few weeks later, after texting back and forth, Kerry dropped off a small package on my doorstep.
I remember being overwhelmed by her thoughtfulness and crying many tears.
You see, in Tampa- this is what we did. Things got deposited at doors all the time.
Flowers, sweet teas, mountain dews, CFA gift cards, notes, and balloons.
It was a fun way to encourage and bless each other and without even knowing, Kerry made me feel right at home.
With Covid, our time to bump into each other at school events has been non-existent, but we've used the gift of texting (and Instagram) to stay connected.
During one of those virtual chats, Kerry shared that their precious family was adding a new little bundle of joy and I was over the moon excited!
So, my heart leaped with excitement when she asked if I could capture her outdoor baby shower.
Friends, this one takes the cake for celebrations.
It was perfection.
Every detail thought of, colors and linens, food and drinks.
It was breathtaking.
But Kerry was the one who really stole the show. (I mean come on- who looks this AMAZING during pregnancy?!)
What an honor to be there, to photograph this special celebration, and to finally get to hug my friend again.
I can't wait to meet this new little one and am so excited to see how the Lord will continue to use this family as they grow together and seek to honor Him in all they do.
We love you, Walker Family! 💙
