Don't miss James Suggs and Jeremy Carter as they pay tribute to both Miles Davis and John Coltrane for their centennials. Suggs and Carter have both headlined individual tributes to these jazz legends in the past and now combine forces for what will be an incredible concert. It's a HC Sunday Jazz Series show in the HCC Mainstage Theatre on Sunday, August 23, at 3 PM. Tickets at Tampa Jazz Club.

What a wonderful Tampa Jazz Club show last night at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center from The Simon Lasky New York Quintet, featuring singer Allison Nash!

The band featured Simon on piano with four veteran NYC-based players: trumpeter Dave Smith, saxophonist Lucas Pino, bassist Peter Slavov, and drummer Jimmy Macbride.

Simon debuted a slate of new songs he wrote that took advantage of these edgy, creative and dynamic soloists. Allison shined on vocals again, especially on a wordless composition, ("Canyons To The Stars") that showed off Simon’s classical music background.

The overheard word of one audience member: “Wow.”

For all of our Ken Peoplowski fans, this is going to be memorable!

This Tuesday, May 19th, Suncoast favorite, the late great Ken Peplowski, will be honored at a memorial service at St. Peters Church in Manhattan.

The event will feature live musical performances.

If you can't attend, the church will be live- streaming the service, starting at 5:30pm.
